What is the bio-phase in a washing machine?

What is the bio-phase in a washing machineEvery year the quality of washing only increases - new detergents and devices appear. Modern concentrates are capable of removing even the most old and complex stains of any origin from fabric. Washing technology does not lag behind progress, helping powders and gels to “open up” in special washing modes. Thus, the bio-phase in the washing machine is an option for washing with powder with enzymes. Let’s take a closer look at how its algorithm differs from others and which concentrates are better suited.

Purpose and features of this algorithm

Previously, it was believed that the effectiveness of a detergent and the quality of stain removal directly depended on the water temperature. The logic was simple: the higher the heating, the faster and better the dirt will be removed. Therefore, people first boiled laundry on the stove, and then chose washing machines with a maximum of 90-95 degrees and constantly ran high-temperature cycles. But time has shown that the scientists were wrong.

It has now become clear that high temperature is not the most important indicator of washing efficiency. Moreover, many things are deformed at 60-90 degrees, and washing machines break down faster due to frequent heating. To improve the quality of cleaning and keep things with equipment in their original condition, you should not abuse the heating element, but use modern detergents. Among the latter are enzyme-based powders.

The “Bio-phase” program is designed for washing with detergents containing enzymes.

Protein contamination is considered one of the most difficult. Without special cleaning agents, it is quite difficult to clean a greasy kitchen towel or a bloody stain on jeans.Bio-additives - enzymes - come to the rescue.What are enzymes in washing powders

Enzymes are biological additives that can instantly break down proteins, fats and carbons. With the help of such components, organic contaminants are easily removed from the fabric without damaging its structure. As a result, clothes are not afraid of stains left by food:

  • berries (strawberries, plums, raspberries, cherries);
  • wine;
  • food coloring;
  • fat (oil);
  • greens;
  • coffee, tea;
  • chocolate;
  • blood.

The problem is that enzymes “work” only in cold and warm water. When heated above 40 degrees, the effectiveness of the substances is lost. To prevent exceeding the maximum, manufacturers have provided a special “Bio-phase” program.

When the bio-phase is activated, the washing machine stops heating at 40 degrees. The main washing stage lasts 10-20 minutes, during which the machine maintains a low temperature. During this time, enzymes penetrate the tissue and break down the contamination. Afterwards, the technician continues the cycle as before: rinsing and spinning the laundry.

Some modern machines offer advanced bio-care. For the first 15-20 minutes, the washing machine maintains 40 degrees, and enzymes remove protein stains. After the specified time has elapsed, the machine increases the maximum temperature to 60-95 degrees. When boiling, other components of the cleaning product begin to be used. As a result, the laundry is cleaned of even the most difficult contaminants.

We activate this algorithm on the machine

The bio-phase starts, like any other mode. You need to connect the machine to the power supply, select the appropriate position with the selector and press the start button. The main thing is to first add detergent with enzymes into the dispenser.

Washing when starting the “Bio-phase” occurs when the water is heated to 40 degrees.

The bio-program algorithm differs from other cycles. So, after heating the water to 40 degrees, the washing drum practically stops: it spins rarely and slowly. Thanks to this “soaking”, enzymes are evenly distributed throughout the fabric and begin to “work” with stains. Next, the machine switches to active washing with intensive rotation of the cylinder.

What to do if there is no bio-phase in the machine?

To get rid of protein stains, you don’t need to have fancy equipment. An analogue of the premium “bio-phase” can also be found among standard positions. Most washing machines have many programs that can replace “enzyme” cleaning. Let's consider the most suitable alternatives.

  1. Soak. The most obvious option. When this function is activated, the machine “stands” for 15-30 minutes in cold water, so that the enzymes have time to dissolve the stains.
  2. Cotton 40. Here the water temperature will remain at 30-40 degrees, which is optimal for protein detergents. There is one minus - the enzymes will have to work with intense rotation of the drum. In principle, this is not scary, since the cycle lasts a long time, and the powder will have time to dissolve.

An alternative to the Bio-phase can be the “Soak”, “Cotton 40”, “Silk” and “Pre-wash” programs.

  1. Silk. For delicate washing, the system sets a low temperature, smooth rotation of the drum and a duration of 60-90 minutes. The cycle parameters are similar to the bio-phase.Silk program on the washing machine
  2. Preliminary. This program consists of two stages. In the first half, the laundry is soaked in cold water, which will allow the enzymes to “work” on the stains. Afterwards, a high-temperature wash begins, which will complete the cleansing of the fabric.

Finding an alternative to the bio-phase is not difficult - you can select or manually configure similar cycle parameters.Hints on using powder with enzymes are also given from the manufacturer of the product: on the back of the package. It is important to carefully read the instructions and follow the recommendations given in them when starting the wash.

Detergents with enzymes

For washing with a bio-cleaning function, special powders are needed. It is necessary to look for concentrates with the addition of enzymes - their presence is indicated in the composition or on the front side of the package. Such products are sold in local stores, chain hypermarkets and marketplaces.

  • Eared Nyan for washing children's clothes. A universal cleaner that can be used for both hand and machine washing. Ideal for bleaching light and white cotton, synthetic and linen fabrics. In addition to enzymes, the powder contains bleaching components, surfactants and nonionic surfactants. The content of the latter does not exceed permissible standards, due to which the granules are completely rinsed out of the fabric, and clothing does not cause allergic reactions. The composition is supplemented with special agents for water softening and anti-corrosion protection of the washing machine. Sold in plastic bags of 2.4 kg for 260-460 rubles.
  • Losk Color. Represents the latest generation of powders. Thanks to the exclusive Active-Zyme 6 formula with a combination of six enzymes, the product effectively removes any stains without damaging the fibers. The concentrate also contains a stain remover that enhances the effect of bio-additives. The product also contains a perfume composition that gives things additional freshness.
