Child lock on Siemens washing machine

Child lock on Siemens washing machineFor kids, washing machines are always of particular interest, because there is so much you can do with it. You can ride on the door, climb inside, press buttons, spin the wheel, and even lick the glass. Of course, you can’t protect either the children or the washing machine from everything, but you can at least lock the control panel while washing so that the baby doesn’t interfere with the process. There is a special function: child lock on a Siemens washing machine. What is it and how to use it?

Where do you press to lock the control panel?

Young mothers already have enough worries, but there is simply no time to sit over the washing machine for up to an hour and make sure that the child does not inadvertently press anything. The control panel lock function comes to the rescue. If you use it according to the rules, no difficulties will arise, everything will go smoothly:

  • turn on the washing machine, add detergent to the tray;
  • select the appropriate mode;
  • find the “Options” or “V” key and hold for 5-10 seconds;
  • activate the wash cycle;enable or disable locking
  • after the process is completed, use the same method to disable the lock;
  • turn off the washing machine.

Important! The lock does not affect the on/off button of a Siemens washing machine.

However, this does not mean that the washing machine will turn off without problems if the lock is not removed. Maybe at first glance everything will be fine, but after restarting you will see that the machine is behaving strangely. You will not be able to select a washing program, and the usual method of removing the lock will not work. But don't be alarmed, there is a way to open the hatch and pull out the laundry from there.

What to do in this case? Try to remember which mode you activated the last time you washed it. As for this model, the name of the last activated mode is visible on the screen. Turn the wheel exactly to this program, after which the method of removing the block, already known to us, will work without problems. Open the door, press and hold the V (Options) key for 5-10 seconds until you receive a sound signal from the washer indicating that the operation was successful.

It may not be a child lock issue.

Sometimes the control panel is locked automatically, without user intervention. This may be due to the fact that a short failure occurred, the washing machine generated an error, but the user did not reset it, and as a result, the unit independently closed access to the control panel. It will be blocked exactly until the error is reset. The algorithm varies from unit to unit, but in general it looks like this:reset error SM Siemens

  • set position 0 using the programmer;
  • turn the selector one notch to the left;
  • press the start key and hold it for a few seconds;
  • place the selector in the previous position.

It happens that the algorithm has to be repeated several times, since the technology “slows down” for no reason. In some models, instead of “Start”, you should press the “Spin” button. And somewhere you need to turn the lock on and off not with the “Options” button, but with the key with the image of a clock. If none of the methods work, you should look at the instructions for using the washing machine. The relevant information is usually located in the “Individual settings and additional functions” section, “Blocking” item.
