Water pressure for dishwasher operation

Water pressure for dishwasher operationLiving in a big city in an apartment is devoid of many problems and worries, for example, you can often simply forget about the water pressure in the water supply. Residents of apartment buildings don’t even think about this, and calmly purchase dishwashers with washing machines. Residents of rural areas and small towns, on the contrary, have to constantly remember that the water supply system may be in disrepair, and there may be almost no pressure in the pipes, so household appliances may not even work in such conditions. To prevent the equipment from generating an error, the water pressure for the dishwasher to operate must be above a certain standard, which we will talk about now.

Minimum and maximum water pressure for PMM

There is no one general value below which the dishwasher will not work, because as many manufacturers of PMMs there are so many requirements for the water supply system. Moreover, most often this depends solely on the control module of the household appliance, which contains a specific program. This is due to the fact that software manufacturers are trying to develop software in such a way that a modern dishwasher can do more in less time. To do this, they often speed up the addition of water to the machine, believing that this is the easiest way to reduce the working cycle time.

It is logical that the faster the water fills the dishwasher, the less time the entire washing procedure will take. But what is relevant for large cities may not be relevant for small towns and villages, which foreign manufacturers of household appliances did not think about at all. Therefore, a situation often occurs that due to old water supply systems that cannot provide even the minimum pressure programmed by the manufacturers, the dishwasher simply refuses to work, giving an error.

Low pressure in the water supply can lead not only to failure of the dishwasher, but also to excessively slow water supply, as well as poor rinsing of detergents after use, which will seriously impair the quality of dishwashing.

Because of all of the above, many rural residents simply refuse to purchase PMM. After all, they acquire a “home assistant” in order to make their life easier, but instead they only face new difficulties. But this problem is easy to solve so that everyone can simplify their life. First, let's determine the minimum pressure values for different brands of household appliances.

  • Equipment from LG, Samsung, Zanussi, Electrolux and Daewoo begins to work normally with water pressure from 0.4 bar. In rare cases, some models of dishwashers of these brands are equipped with inlet valves that accept pressure as low as 0.5 bar, but this still depends only on the software.drying dishes in PMM Electrolux
  • For equipment from Beko, AEG, Ariston, Candy, Indesit, as well as Whirlpool, the current pressure figure is 0.5 bar. It should be borne in mind that a number of Indesit devices function normally even at lower pressure.Beko DIS25010
  • Bosch equipment stands out negatively from the list of “home assistant” manufacturers, because this company’s equipment requires a minimum of 0.7 bar. The same applies to dishwashers from Miele, which most often also require 0.7 bar.
  • Finally, the most demanding household appliances on our list are representatives of the Kuppersbusch brand - these devices require as much as 0.8-0.9 bar. However, it is worth noting that the company also has options for which 0.5 bar will be enough.

We've sorted out the minimum requirements, now it's time to study the pressure in the water supply. The same rule applies here as for equipment manufacturers, because as many settlements as there are, so many pressure options. Unfortunately, it is known that in some rural water supply systems the pressure may not even reach 0.1 bar, which is why not a single dishwasher works in such conditions.

How to create the necessary pressure?

However, low blood pressure is not a reason to despair, move, or refuse to purchase a PMM. For such cases, a special pump was developed to increase the water pressure to the required levels. Of course, purchase and installation require investment, but this purchase fully pays for itself. Let's consider several options for any wallet.

  • WILO PB-088 EA. The cheapest pump in our selection, which has the necessary parameters so that you can connect a dishwasher, a shower, a jacuzzi, and much more in your home. The head of the device is 9.5 m, the temperature is from 0 to 60 degrees Celsius, and the power is about 0.09 kW. You can buy the device for about 60 US dollars.wilo-pb-088-ea
  • GRUNDFOS UPA 15-90. Not such a powerful device, but completely silent and perfect for connecting dishwashers. Its pressure reaches 8 m and its power is 118 W. Costs about 90 dollars.grundfos-upa-15-90
  • Gilex Jumbo 60/35 P-24. The most powerful device for a large family, capable of providing several consumers at once, say, a jacuzzi, a washing machine and a dishwasher. The pressure can reach 35 m, the power is as much as 600 W. Price approximately $107.
  • Marina Cam 80/22.Finally, a real pumping station with large dimensions, capable of supplying several families at once. The pressure reaches 32 m, the depth of water intake is up to 8 m, and the power is 800 W. The average price is $170.

Thus, a resident of any city or village will be able to find a suitable pump model for himself, both in terms of parameters and cost.
