First let's connect the pump

Anyone can make a homemade fountain for their garden or home. The main thing is to strictly follow the recommendations and not deviate from the instructions. The first thing you need to do is remove the drain pump from the washing machine and make sure that the pump is working.

Checking the drain pump for functionality is done with a multimeter.

In order for the water to circulate in the fountain, the pump from the machine will need to be connected to the network. To do this, you will have to connect a wire with a plug to the pump. Let's figure out how to do it right.

In the store you need to purchase a two-wire power cord with a 220V plug. The insulation is removed from the end of the cable - two separate wires are hidden under it. They need to be soldered to the pump contacts.

One wire is connected to the first contact, the other to the adjacent one. It doesn’t matter which core is connected where, you can even swap them. The main thing is not to connect the ground, otherwise the pump will fail.

Having energized the pump, you need to solve the problem of insulating the solder joints. The contacts will be exposed, but they must be covered to prevent water from getting to the connection points and causing a short circuit. The easiest way is to fill the body of the part with epoxy resin, first connecting the pump to the volute.

The algorithm of actions will be as follows:

  • take a metal or plastic jar of such a volume that the pump coil can barely fit into it;plastic resin container
  • place the pump in the container (electrical side down);
  • use masking tape to secure the pump in a level position;place the pump in the container and close the outlets
  • purchase universal epoxy glue at the store;epoxy adhesive
  • dilute the composition according to the instructions;
  • pour the mixed epoxy composition into a container with a pump;fill the pump with epoxy
  • wait 24 hours for the resin to dry;
  • break the can and take out the pump.when the epoxy dries, remove the pump by breaking the can

As a result of such actions, the entire electrical part of the pump will be hidden in epoxy resin. This will not affect the functionality of the pump in any way. After insulating the contacts, you can begin making the fountain.

Making a decorative fountain

It’s better to look for ideas on what garden fountains look like on the Internet. There are many options. You can make a multi-level separate structure or device for a mini-pond that already exists in the local area.

Everything will depend on your imagination and the place you plan to place the fountain. Let us describe one of the simplest schemes, when the fountain is made of granite. To make such a design, you will need to prepare:

  • a square plastic pot without holes (approximately 30*40 cm in size or more);
  • washing machine pump;
  • a nozzle with which you can narrow the snail fitting;
  • a pipe for water supply (the diameter should correspond to the nozzle, and the length should correspond to your wishes and pump power, on average it is 50-90 cm);materials for a beautiful fountain from a SM pump
  • decorative pebbles (approximately 20-25 kg);
  • three bricks;
  • granite (sawn into pieces).

The only tools you need are a drill.Be sure to prepare a feather drill for tiles. This is necessary to drill holes for the pipe in granite.

The further algorithm of actions will be as follows:

  • place the plastic flowerpot in the place prepared for it;
  • Place bricks on the sides, on three sides (they are necessary to give the structure stability);
  • install a pump between the bricks;installing a flowerpot with a pump
  • put the nozzle on the volute fitting, and then the pipe;
  • close the free holes of the cochlea with plugs;
  • pour water into the flowerpot and turn on the pump, check how the structure works;
  • drill holes in the granite with a diameter slightly larger than the size of the tube;
  • place the first granite tile on the pipe, it should rest on the bricks lying in the container;string granite blocks onto a tube
  • fill the free space of the flowerpot with pebbles;
  • place the remaining granite pieces on the pipe one by one, so that the center of gravity does not shift;
  • Having laid the last stone, make a mark on the pipe;
  • remove the granite and saw off the excess section of the pipe;
  • put the last tile back in place.

Such a homemade fountain will cause a lot of admiration. It will seem as if the water is running straight from the granite stone. This is one of the unusual and at the same time simple ideas that anyone can repeat.
