On the front wall of the machine there is a control panel, a dispenser, and a hatch door. All components will have to be removed, and this will take more time than unscrewing several bolts of the back wall.

But this arrangement also has its advantages. During the work, you will not have to move the machine from the wall or disconnect the machine from the water supply and sewerage.

So, having figured out the location of the heating element in a Samsung washing machine, you should also understand the principle of removing the element. The algorithm of actions will be as follows:

• de-energize the equipment;
• unscrew the garbage filter to collect the water remaining in the system;
• pull out the powder receptacle (the part can be easily removed by pressing the button located inside the cuvette);
• Unscrew the screws that were located under the dispenser;
• tighten the bolt on the control panel;
• Place the panel, without removing it from the body, on the top of the machine;

You just need to move the front panel slightly to open access to the heating element.

Afterwards, you can move the control panel down so that it does not fall from the top cover during further manipulations. This will complete the preparation for diagnosing the heating element.

The heating element is located in the washing machine directly under the tank. There is no need to rush and change the part right away; first of all, you need to check the heater. Only after making sure that it is faulty should you install a new element.

Testing the part

As already mentioned, the first step is to diagnose the heating element. It is possible that the heating element is working properly, but the water does not reach the required temperature due to the failure of the control module. To check the heater you will need a special device - a multimeter, in other words - a tester.

The diagnostic algorithm will be as follows:

• switch the multimeter to resistance measurement mode;
• disconnect the wires from the contacts of the heating element and thermostat (the thermistor is located directly on the heater). It is important to remove the wiring carefully so as not to disturb the connection diagram. Before disconnecting the wires, it is recommended to photograph their position so as not to make a mistake during reassembly;
• Apply the tester probes to both contact terminals of the heater;
• evaluate the performance of the element. If the device screen displays a value within 25-30 Ohms, then the part being tested is in perfect order.

When the multimeter display shows “0” or “1”, it means that the heating element has burned out and can no longer perform its functions. In such a situation, it is necessary to replace the element.

The heating element of the washing machine cannot be repaired, so if it breaks, there is only one way out - install a new heating element. You must purchase a replacement part carefully. It is important to buy a heater that matches the specific Samsung washing machine model.

• place the part in the groove;
• secure with a central nut;
• put the thermostat back in;
