Washing a cap in the dishwasher

Washing a cap in the dishwasherA real housewife will always come up with a million additional uses for household appliances besides the main one. So, over time, dishwashers began to be used for washing fruits and vegetables, then toys, and someone even thought of washing some items of clothing in them. For example, you can easily wash a cap in the dishwasher, and this will not harm either the headdress or the PMM. It’s even interesting to know how such an impromptu “wash” works. This is what we have to find out.

Washing the cap correctly

Although it is not customary to wash hats often, do not forget that a baseball cap is a summer thing, so sweat and dirt still leave marks on it, albeit invisible at first glance. Washing in the dishwasher will be very effective and convenient, unless the cap is wool. Wool must be washed in a washing machine using a special program.

Of course, it is wrong to say that there is no risk of damage to the headdress when washing in the dishwasher. Still, this is the use of household appliances for other purposes, and anything can happen. However, in fact, such a procedure should be avoided only in the following cases:studying the baseball cap tag

  • on the tag there is a recommendation to wash the baseball cap only in cold water;
  • there is damage on the headdress, for example, small holes, unraveling seams, etc.;
  • the cap has a visor with a cardboard cascade (such caps were especially mass-produced in the 90s);
  • the cap is branded, expensive or simply very valuable to you, in general, one that would be a pity to ruin.

To wash a baseball cap, use a protective mesh or even a metal hat holder - the latter will help maintain the shape of the product.The shape will not save you from high temperature and humidity, but it will help avoid creasing when washing. The holder opens, the cap is placed inside and then the holder snaps around.

Attention! Make sure that the mesh or holder mold will not harm the dishwasher during the process.

In the event of a breakdown, you will lose the right to warranty repair of the equipment, since the breakdown will be the fault of your negligence.

Whether you wash one cap or several, it doesn’t matter, the main thing is to place the products on the top shelf, where the temperature of the water and air is not so high, and do not wash baseball caps and dishes in one go, this is not hygienic.put the caps in the basket

It is absolutely impossible to use automatic drying in a PMM; the air is too hot and can deform the fabric and the shape of the product. Also choose the shortest washing cycle to reduce the impact of hot water and air on the cap. If you can set the temperature yourself, set it to the lowest temperature.

You should choose a detergent very carefully, as too active substances can corrode the color of the product. Place a small amount of your chosen product on an inconspicuous part of the cap (for example, the inner seam), wait until it dries and see if the item has faded. Then the product can be used. Dishwashing liquid is fine, but aggressive bleaches and citric acid-based products should not be used.

If the dirt on the cap is minor, you can not use a cleaning product at all. After washing, the product must be dried in natural conditions! Leave the mesh or holder on the product until it is completely dry.

What else can be washed in the dishwasher besides dishes?

As mentioned above, washing clothes is not the only thing modern users use their dishwashers for. The function of washing vegetables and fruits plays an important role. Of course, in reality there is no such option, but if everything is done correctly, the result will greatly please the hostess. You can wash anything, from small berries (cherries, apricots) to pumpkins, zucchini and eggplants.

Important! When washing vegetables and fruits, do not use detergents, but select “Rinse” as the mode.

When washing small fruits, use a mesh for washing delicate laundry so as not to clog the drain. Arrange large fruits evenly on the shelves. If there is a thick layer of dirt stuck on fruits or vegetables, you will have to remove it manually first.Vegetable bottles should not be washed

Another excellent use of PMM is washing refrigerator shelves and containers. Just remember to let them warm up a little at room temperature before putting them in the dishwasher, otherwise the sudden transition from cold to heat can lead to cracks. Place the containers so that the sprinklers do not cling to them.

You can wash other household items in exactly the same way - vacuum cleaner attachments, stove grates, or even a kitchen hood filter. You can repeat the cycles until you are satisfied with the result.

From non-food utensils, the PMM can be used to wash metal or ceramic mugs without a pattern, glasses made of thick plastic, and even soap dishes. Along with them, you can also load makeup brushes, combs, and elastic bands with hairpins (the main thing is to clear them of hair before doing this). The only thing that cannot be washed in the PMM is wood and products made from it.

If you have a pet at home, its bowls, collar, and toys can also be washed in the dishwasher.Just clean them of wool before sending them to PMM. If the products are made of leather or covered with rhinestones, then you should refrain.wash toys in PMM

For children's toys made of plastic and rubber, a dishwasher is just a gift. If you disinfect toys there once a month, you don't have to worry about the spread of germs. Most modern toys are quite capable of withstanding high temperatures, but if in doubt, you can try a cooler setting.

Even tiny toys can be washed in the PMM if you put them in a fabric bag. It is better to wash children’s toys without any detergent at all, and battery-powered toys, of course, cannot be washed in a PMM.
