Power of the Indesit washing machine

Power of the Indesit washing machineWhen studying the characteristics of an automatic machine, you can stumble upon an indicator of its power. Not all buyers pay attention to this value. If you want to purchase a machine that provides high quality washing with minimal electricity consumption, we still recommend analyzing the power of the Indesit washing machine. This will help in choosing a “home assistant”.

How much does the unit consume?

The power of the washing machine is determined in special laboratories. Cotton laundry is placed in the drum (its weight is always the maximum allowable for the machine being tested), after which the wash starts at 60°C. With these operating parameters, the volume of kW required to process 1 kg of things is measured. The information calculated experimentally is reflected on the label of the washing equipment.

It is a mistake to believe that the amount of electricity consumed by a washing machine is constant. The power consumed by the SMA is influenced by several factors: from the load on the drum to the specified washing mode. Let's look at this issue in more detail. With a constant engine power, the volume of kW “eaten” by the machine depends on:

  • the principle of operation of the equipment - is the machine semi-automatic or is it a full-fledged automatic machine;
  • type of washable fabric. For example, synthetic clothing that gets wet will not always weigh the same as cotton. Therefore, the electricity consumed by the unit will change;
  • given program. If the running mode involves, for example, heating water to 90°C, then the machine will “eat up” more kW;
  • drum load. The washing machine is not always filled to the maximum. If the machine is half loaded, then less electricity will be drawn out.how much does the Indesit machine consume?

Why indicate power if it is such a variable quantity? In fact, by comparing the indicator of different SMA models, you can choose the most economical device. The lower the number of kW declared by the manufacturer, the more economical the unit with the least number of parameters (load weight, water heating temperature) will be, other things being equal.

Let's understand the notation

The power consumption of the washing machine is indicated on the label and is designated by the letters “A”, “B”, “C”, etc. Also, a “+” is attached to the symbol, this indicates that the model is more economical. Today, washing machines are produced that are assigned one of the following energy consumption classes.energy consumption table

  • A++ - indicates that the machine “eats” 0.15 kW for every kg of cotton linen. Moreover, precisely during the washing program, when the water warms up to 60°C;
  • A+ – only 0.17 kW is consumed;
  • A – power consumption, calculated in the laboratory, increases to 0.19 kW;
  • B – a machine assigned this class consumes 0.23 kW per hour of washing a kilogram of cotton fabric;
  • C – the number of kilowatts required for washing – 0.27;
  • D – energy consumption class is assigned to washing machines that consume up to 0.31 kW per 1 kg of laundry placed in the drum.

If the maximum permissible load weight is 5 kg, accordingly, the power value is multiplied by 5, and thus the electricity consumed per cycle is calculated.

It is worth recalling once again that this indicator is calculated when washing cotton with water heated to 60 degrees. If synthetics are loaded into the drum, or an increased temperature regime is needed, then the machine will “eat up” more watts. The indicated values are given for automatic machines; semi-automatic machines are characterized by slightly different numbers.

Classes of popular models

Today, even the most budget Indesit washing machines correspond to energy consumption class “A” and higher, they are quite economical. You can verify this by examining several machines offered for sale. Let's present a short overview of individual models.

  • Indesit IWUB 4085. The machine can be installed separately or built into furniture. The narrow washing machine can hold up to 4 kg of laundry at a time; spinning is possible at speeds up to 800 rpm. High energy saving class, 0.15 kW/kg consumed per hour of operation. Water consumption per cycle is also small, 39 liters.
  • Indesit BWUA 51051 L B is a free-standing “front-mounted” with a maximum permissible loading weight of 5 kg. Capable of spinning things at speeds up to 1000 rpm. It uses 47 liters of water per wash. The power indicator is 0.17 kW*h/kg, which corresponds to class “A+”.
  • Indesit IWSC 6105. The washing machine drum allows you to load up to 6 kg of laundry. The maximum spin speed is 1000 rpm. Electricity consumption – 0.19 kW. It consumes 48 liters of water per cycle.Indesit BTW A61052 Indesit IWSC 6105
  • Indesite BTW A61052. Capacious “vertical”, holding up to 6 kg of things at a time. Spin up to 1000 rpm. The volume of water required for washing is 60 liters. SMA “eats” 0.16 kWh/kg.Indesit EWSD 51031 BK
  • Indesit EWSD 51031 BK is another budget washing machine, with a maximum load of 5 kg. Spin speed – up to 1000 rpm. The number of kW “winded up” per hour of washing a kilogram of fabric is 0.17. 44 liters of water are required per cycle.

The energy consumption class of budget modern Indesit washing machines complies with European energy efficiency standards.

However, when choosing a car, you need to focus on other characteristics. The model must be assessed comprehensively, taking into account all significant indicators.

Is it worth pursuing savings?

It’s great if the washing machine’s power consumption is minimal. But besides this, you should understand that an SMA that does not rinse and wash well will be of little use. Therefore, when deciding on a model, a certain balance should be maintained.

Water consumption and watt indicators are interrelated. If the SM collects a little water for washing, it will be easier to heat the liquid, therefore, electricity consumption will be reduced. Also, a tank in which there is little water is easier to rotate, and this also reduces the number of “wound” kW. When choosing an automatic machine, you should decide for yourself whether such savings are needed. Is it worth buying a super-economical machine that cannot rinse clothes well?
