The tablet does not fall out in the dishwasher

The tablet does not fall out in the dishwasherAbsolutely every dishwasher has a detergent dispenser, into which you need to load household chemicals before the operating cycle. In the case of using tablets for PMM, this product will be completely used during washing, for which the compartment lid will open, the tablet will be filled with water and dissolved in the liquid, thus creating a washing solution. However, if the dispenser lid does not open, the tablet will remain dry and will not dissolve in water, so the dishes will be cleaned without household chemicals and, most likely, will remain dirty. We'll tell you what to do if a tablet doesn't fall out in your dishwasher.

Monitor the placement of dishes

The most important reason for this problem is considered to be a simple mistake with the placement of dishes. Experts note that it is the incorrect placement of cutlery items inside the washing chamber that often prevents the opening of the compartment for household chemicals. To prevent this from happening, make sure that all utensils are installed correctly.

  • The lower basket should be used to place the largest items, such as frying pans, pots, baking sheets, lids, large plates, and so on.

Be careful when arranging large items - they should not block the free movement of the spray arms, otherwise some of the dishes may simply not be washed during the working cycle.

  • Place plates, small bowls, glasses, mugs and even the smallest pans in the top basket.
  • A small tray is needed for the smallest cutlery items, for example, spoons, forks, knives, spatulas and more.
  • Each item must be securely in its place so that during washing it will not be knocked over by a powerful stream of water.
  • The gap between the compartment with the tablet and the dirty dishes must be at least 3 centimeters, otherwise the dispenser lid simply will not open.arranging dishes in the dishwasher
  • Turn deep dishes upside down so that water does not accumulate in them during washing, and it is possible to dry them at the final stage of operation of the device.
  • Knives and other sharp objects should be placed horizontally to prevent damage to you and other cutlery. If your dishwasher has a section for cutlery in a vertical position, then for safety it is better to place knives in the upper basket.
  • All items made of glass, crystal and other fragile materials should not come into contact with other tableware.
  • It is better not to wash shot glasses and other small fragile objects in the PMM, as there is a very high probability that they will simply fall out of the baskets during the working cycle and break.

Finally, the most important rule is careful consumption. In other words, don't overload your dishwasher in an effort to wash as many dishes as possible at once. An overloaded work cycle will not only reduce the quality of dishwashing, but also increase electricity consumption, so it is always better to divide the washing into several approaches.

Unsuitable tablet or dispenser failure

Basically, in dishwashers, the tablet compartment is designed in such a way that the tablet is placed horizontally in it. If you mistakenly place it vertically or even on its edge, then the detergent can block the compartment lid, which is why it will not open during operation.

In a situation where a tablet does not fall out in the dishwasher, but you are absolutely sure of the quality of household chemicals and that they were added to the compartment correctly, only inspecting the dispenser mechanism will help you. To do this you need:

  • first of all, it is necessary to remove all the retaining screws located around the perimeter of the PMM door in order to gain access to the detergent compartment;
  • Having unscrewed all the screws, remove the front panel of the PMM, for which you need to lower it down so that the latches come out of the grooves;How to remove the door from a dishwasher
  • unscrew the screws holding the metal lid of the dishwasher and remove it too;

Before following the next steps, double-check that you have turned off the power to the machine so that working with its internal electronic components is safe.

  • at this stage you can see an electromagnet, which should operate during operation of the machine and open the lid of the tablet compartment;
  • check the two red wires that should be connected to the solenoid. The fact is that very often at the factory they are not fully inserted into the terminal, so due to intensive use of the PMM, the wires fall out and the electromagnet ceases to perform its main function. There is also a possibility of damage to the terminal, due to which the wire will not be securely fixed and will eventually disconnect from the assembly itself;electromagnet in the dishwasher door
  • to reconnect the wires we need to pull out the white terminal, insert two red wires into it, secure them with a latch, and then connect the terminal to the electromagnetic coupling until a characteristic click is heard;
  • For increased reliability, the two red wires should be carefully tied to the rest of the wires going to the electromagnet. For this purpose, regular electrical tape or a small tie will do.Thanks to this, the wires will not be under tension, so the risk of falling out of the terminal again will be reduced;
  • Now all that remains is to reinstall the protective and decorative panels of the dishwasher.

This is how, in just 8 points and less than an hour of free time, you can restore the supply of detergent to the PMM. Be sure to check the functionality of the dispenser by running a test wash to ensure that the tablet inside the dispenser dissolves again during the operating cycle.
