Error E22 in Kandy washing machine

Error E22 in Kandy washing machineDoes your Candy washing machine have an E22 error? Before you start looking for the cause of the notification, you need to remember whether the device behaved strangely before. Perhaps the water was collected or drained after the main wash cycle a couple of times one after another, or the equipment worked properly for half an hour, but suddenly “froze”; the water did not collect or heat up at all. Let's figure out what the E22 code means, how devices of different models indicate a malfunction, and what to do if an error is detected.

Code on machines without a screen

If the washing machine does not have a display, it indicates an error by blinking the LED lights. They flash in series, after 22 flashes there is a 5-13 second pause, and then the machine again signals an error. The user of the device just needs to count the number of flashes before the pause occurs, this will be a fault code indicating a specific error.

Some Candy washing machine models have different flashing lights. For example, in devices of the Grand line, the machine displays error E22 with the LED of the “Intensive wash” mode and the very first left light element in the washing time calculation display (in most cases this is the value “90”).

Models of the Smart line are signaled by the “Intensive wash” indicator and the upper LED indicating the countdown system. As in Grand models, it is most often “90”, but “Start” is also found. In the Holiday and Aquamatic models, the “Wash with cold water” mode light blinks. It is indicated by the image of a snowflake.

Important! For troubleshooting purposes, it does not matter which light is flashing. The key role is played by the number of flashes, which the user must carefully count.

What does E22 mean?

E22 can signal the presence of one of two malfunctions: an error in the pressure switch (water level sensor), when the system detects an overflow of liquid, or a problem in the heating circuit. Experienced professionals claim that the code E22 is rarely seen. Most of the known cases concern the Candy washing machine. Damages you may encounter:

  • The device does not heat the water, stops working and displays an error. Perhaps the problem arose due to a burnt-out heating element (heating element). In order to fix the problem, the part is replaced with a working one.E22 due to problems with the pressure switch
  • Pressostat malfunctions. It incorrectly notifies the user of excess water. This problem is possible if the pressure switch hose is clogged, the integrity of the pressure switch is damaged, the sensor is broken, or the pressure sampling chamber is heavily contaminated. Depending on the cause of the malfunction, parts are replaced, the hose is blown out, or the chamber is cleaned.
  • Water is constantly being collected, after which it is drained and error E22 is displayed. The problem is related to the fill valve; an excess amount of water enters and the machine overflows. In this case, it is enough to replace the faulty valve.
  • Burnout of radio elements in the control unit. The technician must resolder the faulty elements. If this is not possible, the control unit must be completely replaced.
  • Problems with wiring, damage to contacts. The control unit does not receive information from the device elements, the washing cycle is interrupted, and the indicators begin to signal error E22.This is possible when the machine vibrates strongly during the washing process. In a private home, wires can be chewed by mice and other rodents. Specialists solder contacts, restore wiring or change it entirely.

Error E22 does not always indicate a breakdown that must be fixed by a specialist. It is likely that the control board has failed, which requires rebooting the machine and disconnecting it from the power supply for 20 minutes. If after all the manipulations the equipment works as usual, you have managed to reset the code and there is no need to call a technician.
