In most cases, the procedure will be able to “reanimate” a machine whose malfunction was caused by a short-term failure. For example, if the equipment freezes while executing the program and does not show signs of operation for a long time, you need to restart the Indesit washing machine. How to reboot?
It is necessary to understand that resetting the settings of an automatic washing machine is an extreme measure, which should be resorted to only when other methods fail to return the washing machine to working capacity. If the automatic machine freezes in the middle of washing, you can try to reset the settings yourself and start the desired program again. The algorithm of actions will be as follows:
- press the “Start” button, continue to hold it for 10 seconds. The running program must stop;
- If the washing machine model is outdated, you should additionally move the selector knob to the neutral position.
If the settings on the automatic machine have been reset, the indication on the control panel will turn green and go out after a second.
The case when the lamps do not flicker indicates a malfunction of the unit or you made a mistake when resetting the settings. If you cannot reset the program this way, you should start a complete reboot of the machine. It is performed as follows:
- set the programmer knob to the neutral position;
- press “Stop/Start” for 5 seconds;
- unplug the power cord from the outlet, wait 15-20 minutes;
- reconnect the SMA to the network, launch the desired program.
It happens that the Indesit washing machine does not respond to turning the programmer and pressing a button. Then you can skip these reboot steps and immediately turn off the power to the equipment. However, it should be remembered that if there is a sudden power cut while the machine is operating, there is a risk of failure of the main control unit.
How to quickly drain water without turning on the equipment?
In cases where, after starting the wash, you remember that you forgot something important in your pockets: a passport, a couple of bills, a car key fob, a credit card, a phone – there is no need to restart the washer. It will be enough to stop the running program, quickly drain the water from the drum and unlock the door.
All actions must be performed as soon as possible. The sooner an important item is removed from the machine, the greater the chance of saving it. So, how to independently remove a forgotten item from the machine after starting the wash:
- stop the running program by pressing the Stop/Start button;
- Move the mode switch knob to the neutral position;
- run the “Drain” program, always without spinning;
- wait until the water is completely removed from the tank.
As soon as the drum is empty, the machine's hatch will unlock. If you cannot drain the liquid by starting the mode, you can do it yourself through a garbage filter. The filter element is located in the lower right corner of the washing machine, behind a special panel, on the front. Before unscrewing the filter, cover the floor under the device with rags and prepare a container to collect water.
