• The test will also clearly demonstrate the performance of the machine - whether it draws and heats water normally, whether it drains all waste liquid well, and whether water remains in the chamber after drying.
• This is also an opportunity to check whether the machine is installed correctly, whether there are any problems with connecting to all communications, and whether the wire or hose is squashed.

You should not think that since idle starting is carried out without dishes, then household chemicals are not needed, because there is nothing to wash.Detergent and special salt must be loaded for the test cycle, because the first will help wash away all contaminants, and the second will prevent the ion exchanger from deteriorating.

Let's start with the most important thing - salt. A Siemens dishwasher needs it if your locality has hard tap water. Salt will restore the softening functions of the ion exchanger, which takes the brunt of low-quality water. To add salt:

• open the dishwasher door, find the salt bin at the bottom and unscrew its lid;
• pour about a liter of water inside, and then add about a kilogram of special salt;

Do not use regular table salt for dishwashers, as it does not undergo such thorough cleaning as industrial salt, plus its granules are smaller, so it copes much worse with the reducing functions of the ion exchanger.

• If some salt solution spills from the reservoir, wipe the water with a cloth and run a cycle to remove any remaining salt from the bottom of the wash chamber.

To reduce or increase your salt intake, you need to know the quality of your tap water. You can find out yourself by using test strips, which often come with household appliances. Now load the machine with detergent, which can be in the form of a powder, gel, tablet or capsule. After loading the chemicals, be sure to turn on the PMM and record on the control panel which type of detergent you have chosen.

Washing dishes for the first time

When the test is completed, the equipment should be given several hours to cool and dry. This should be done with the door open so that the moisture evaporates better and mold and an unpleasant odor do not appear inside the washing chamber over time. Also, you should not run the PMM without interruption in order not to overload the heating element and the pump.

When your Siemens dishwasher is ready to use, fill the baskets with dirty dishes so that nothing blocks the movement of the spray arms, and there is a small gap between the items so that water has free access to all surfaces. Check whether there are enough detergents for the job and start washing.

Never load dishes with leftover food, napkins, seeds, tea leaves, coffee grounds and other debris - all this must first be removed with your own hands so as not to clog the dishwasher filter.
