First launch of the Beko washing machine

First launch of the Beko washing machineA new washing machine requires a special approach. Simply installing and connecting the machine to communications is not enough - before throwing things into the drum, a number of mandatory measures must be taken. Otherwise, not only will the laundry remain dirty, but the machine will also suffer. To avoid any unpleasant surprises, the first start-up of the Beko washing machine must be carried out strictly according to the factory instructions. We suggest you figure out how to check the readiness of equipment for work, launch the program and prevent problems.

Making sure the unit is ready

Before starting the washing machine, you should make sure that the machine is working and understand its basic controls. First of all, open the user manual and decipher all the icons and buttons on the machine’s dashboard. Next, we check its readiness for the upcoming wash, paying attention to four important points.

  • Are the fastenings secure? Ideally, the installation of a new washing machine should be carried out by a professional. Loose clamps on the inlet and drain hoses “fly off” even during the first wash and lead to leaks.
  • Have the shipping bolts been removed? The drum tie is necessary for safe transportation, which ensures the safety of the shock-absorbing system. However, it is prohibited to operate the washing machine with a fixed tank - the equipment will not be able to “accelerate”, which will lead to severe internal damage to the machine. All screws holding the drum reservoir must be removed and replaced with the plastic plugs included in the kit. It’s easy to find out how many fasteners there are on a particular Beko model in the instructions.

Free warranty service does not apply to damage caused by transportation bolts that have not been removed!

  • Is the drum clean? Often, components are placed inside the washing machine, which must be removed before starting the machine.
  • Has all the store “protection” been removed? For safety reasons during transportation, equipment is covered with adhesive tape, secured with plastic ties and covered with foam plastic. Before operating the machine, all foreign objects are removed.remove the components from the drum

If the answer is “yes” to all questions, then you are allowed to start the machine for the first time. However, the start cycle is not considered a full wash - it is called a technical start. We will tell you further how it is carried out and why.

Technical launch

After checking the readiness of the machine and studying the instructions, you can start starting the equipment. To start washing, just plug the power cord into the outlet, open the valve on the water pipe, load the laundry into the drum and press the start button. But it’s better not to rush into things, but to carry out a technical cycle.

By technical start we mean a “idle” wash, that is, a cycle with an empty drum. This will help with two tasks at once:

  • The factory lubricant will be washed off from the internal surfaces of the machine, due to which the unpleasant odor will disappear;
  • You can safely check the operation of the machine (water intake, drain function, noise level, presence of increased vibration, etc.).

Beko's first launch is carried out without laundry, but with detergent!

During the test wash, laundry is not placed, as there is a high probability of damaging the items with the grease remaining in the drum or not washing the clothes due to a manufacturing defect. It’s better not to take risks, but to check the machine idle. Detergent, on the contrary, must be added to clean the unit from dirt and odors.let's start the machine without laundry

If at the first start a leak, a program failure or other problems in the system are detected, the cycle is forcibly stopped, and a service center specialist is called to your home. Remember that most manufacturers, including Beko, provide free one-year maintenance under warranty.

Custom Settings

The first single wash can be carried out on any program, without focusing on the type and color of the laundry. However, subsequent use of the washing machine requires choosing the appropriate mode to protect items from excessive temperatures and spin. This is not easy to do - modern Bekos have an impressive dashboard with dozens of buttons, lights and symbols.

For those who use a washing machine for the first time, it is difficult to understand the numerous keys, symbols and sensors. The “poke” method will not work - you need to open the instructions and carefully read the explanation of the marked symbols. The manual must provide a list of all available programs.

When choosing a washing program, you need to focus on the color and type of laundry!

To summarize, starting the washing machine goes like this:

  • we connect the equipment to the electrical network;
  • turn the valve on the water pipe to the open position;
  • we sort the laundry and load it into the drum (do not forget about the capacity of the drum - exceeding the maximum and underestimating the minimum load weight is prohibited);
  • close the hatch tightly;setting up the program
  • add detergent (how and how much will be discussed further);
  • use the programmer to select the appropriate mode, and if necessary, vary the washing parameters (spin speed, water temperature, cycle duration);
  • Click “Start” and wait for the program to finish.

Each mode has its own temperature range, spin speed and duration. Most modern Beko notifies you of the end of the cycle with an audible signal. However, do not rush to open the hatch - the electronic lock is held by the system for 2-3 minutes after the wash is completed.

Adding a Tool

For a complete and high-quality wash, you need a detergent. To fill or fill it, there is a special compartment - a powder receptacle, located on the left side of the Beko body. It’s easy to use: just grab the handle, pull it towards you, and pull out the dispenser.

To make things easier, there are a few things to consider:add powder

  • buy only high-quality and safe products suitable for the type of laundry being washed;
  • pay attention to the type of powder and gel (there are compositions for automatic, hand wash and semi-automatic);
  • use a measuring cup for the correct dosage;
  • distribute the powder correctly (each dispenser has three sections, of which the left is for the main program, the center is for liquid products, stain removers and conditioners, and the right is when using the pre-wash mode).

When adding detergent, follow the dosage!

The modern market also offers an alternative - gel capsules and cleaning wipes. These products are placed directly into the drum and act more purposefully. However, the enhanced effect affects their cost, which is several times higher than the price tag of a regular powder or gel.

Useful tips

The washing machine greatly simplifies a person’s life, and operating the machine is easier than it seems. If you follow the basic rules, the machine will last for many years without complaints or breakdowns. You just need to adhere to the following recommendations:

  • do not neglect the instructions;
  • For hard water, use a softener;
  • do not change the mode during the washing process;
  • leave the door open after the end of the cycle;
  • Do not place heavy objects on the washing machine.

The first launch of Beko will go without surprises if you follow the instructions. The main thing is to prepare for the start and remember the manufacturer’s recommendations.
