How to connect the pump wires of an LG washing machine

Repairing complex household appliances has never been cheap, and prices have risen even more recently, so it's no surprise that many people want to do at least simple repairs themselves. Replacing the pump is included in this list, because you can cope with this procedure at home, even without special education or experience. However, if the replacement itself rarely raises questions, then connecting the drain pump wires may briefly confuse the owner of the washing machine. We will analyze in detail how to perform this procedure, what you should pay attention to and what nuances to take into account.

Connecting wiring to the LG CM pump

To correctly connect the pump wires, you should remember that two chips are connected to any drain pump of a washing machine from the LG brand. The first should be connected to the contact with the letter L, and the second - to the contact with the letter N.

Be sure to take a photo of the correct connection of the chips before removing the old pump, since the chips are the same and it is very easy to confuse them, and it is always better to keep information on hand about which wire should go where.

At the same time, the chips can still be connected anywhere, if you make sure that the wires do not dangle, but are connected correctly. The fact is that the pump impeller will rotate in any direction, which will not affect the pump’s performance in any way. In this case, it is a little more important to make sure that the pump is tightly installed in its place, the sealing rubber has not come off and all the screws are tightened properly so that the part does not wobble during the operating cycle.
