How to use a clothes dryer

How to use a clothes dryerDespite its obvious benefits, a drying cabinet is not as common in modern families as a washing machine or dishwasher. Because of this, it is not always clear to new customers how to properly use a clothes drying cabinet. Therefore, it is so important to first study the user manual, which contains not only the rules and recommendations for operation, but also all the capabilities of a modern “home assistant”. This must be done so as not to accidentally damage either expensive household appliances or valuables that can easily be damaged during an incorrectly configured operating cycle. We will analyze in detail a clothes drying cabinet, how to place things inside it, how to maintain it, and much more.

Placing items inside the closet

The following instructions assume that your drying cabinet is already installed and connected to all communications, so it can be used for drying things. Each closet has three sections with hangers for the user, each of which has special rods for things. For drying to be as efficient as possible, these sections must be used correctly.

  • Place items in your closet based solely on how much space they need, not how much they weigh.
  • To dry effectively, do not place clothes on the very top section of the closet.
  • The longest items should be placed against the walls of the closet, and short items should be left in the center.
  • For maximum productivity, you need to fold the two lower sections with hangers if you need to dry long wardrobe items such as dresses, coats and others.
  • Small items, such as hats, gloves and scarves, should be placed on special hangers on the inside of the door.
  • For convenience, slide the hangers of the upper section forward and push them back when you do not need them.
  • Do not allow the closet to be overloaded, otherwise the laundry will not only not dry, but will also become very wrinkled.
  • Leave at least a minimal gap between things.how to place things inside a drying cabinet
  • The gap between things should be larger if the product can fade and ruin the clothes located nearby.
  • It is advisable not to process small and large items together, as they require different times to dry completely.
  • Do not place knitted items on hangers as they will stretch during the drying process due to the fact that they become extremely heavy when wet.
  • Try to immediately remove dried items from the closet in order to speed up the drying of the remaining items there.
  • Before starting work, check the ventilation duct and air intake - they should not be blocked by anything, plus there should be no dust or dirt in them.

Following these basic rules will allow you to always dry things efficiently and not have to worry about the safety of your clothes or the condition of your expensive drying cabinet.

Getting to know the programs and functions

Now let's look at which operating modes and additional options to use. It is simply impossible to list everything due to the fact that the set of programs with options varies depending on the brand and the specific model, so we will describe the most basic operating cycles that can be found in every “home assistant”.

It is worth considering that drying cabinets for household needs are equipped not only with automatic modes, but also with manual ones.

Automatic ones differ from manual ones in that the drying in them stops itself after the items have dried. During the last 10 minutes of operation, the heating is turned off and the fan begins to cool the clothes. Manual programs allow you to turn on the cabinet for a certain time, after which the operation will stop. The cooling period in manual work cycles also begins 10 minutes before the end of the work. Among the classic automatic modes it is worth listing:

  • Automatic 40 Normal – used for working with medium weight clothing.
  • Automatic 40 Extra – needed for dense multi-layer products.
  • Automatic 60 Normal - similar to the first mode, only the temperature is set at 60 degrees Celsius, not 40.
  • Automatic 60 Extra - the operating principle is similar to the second mode, only the drying temperature is different.

Choose the temperature depending on the information on the clothing label.

Now let's look at the main manual modes that can be found in modern drying cabinets. Typically, the following programs are available to users:drying cabinet panel

  • Manual 30 – a cycle in which the user can set the operating time himself. The mode is suitable for clothes made from the most delicate types of fabric, for which processing at temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius is prohibited.
  • Manual 40 – program for clothes that can withstand temperatures of 40.
  • Manual 60 - similar, only the level of impact is higher by another 20 degrees.
  • Manual Energy Saving - in this program, things are processed not with the help of heat, but with the use of a fan.

It is also worth noting the useful auxiliary functions that are usually presented in more expensive models of household appliances. Inexpensive units usually only provide child protection, as well as the option of steaming things. The first is activated and deactivated by a special combination of buttons, while for the second there is a separate button on the dashboard that allows you to select the intensity of the treatment. Steam treatment will add freshness to clothes, which is especially important if the user did not wash the clothes before drying.

Start drying

If the instructions for filling the cabinet, as well as its main modes, have been studied, then you can start launching. To avoid confusion, repeat point by point.

  • Activate the device with the power key.
  • The display will light up and show the mode last used.
  • If you are satisfied with the selected program, which will flash on the display, then press the OK button.
  • If the mode is not suitable for the current situation, then you can select another using the UP and DOWN buttons and then confirm with the OK button.activation of the oven program

This way you can activate the automatic drying mode. When you need to use one of the manual cycles, the procedure will be slightly different.

  • Launch the “home assistant”, the display of which will show the last selected mode.
  • If it is suitable, then press the OK key, after which the duty cycle time, either set by default or selected by you last time, will begin to flash on the display.
  • If the duration suits you, then you need to press OK again to start drying.
  • In a situation where you are initially not satisfied with the selected operating time, you need to change it with the UP and DOWN buttons, increasing and decreasing the duration, and then confirm with the OK button.
  • If the drying mode itself is not suitable, then you can change it in the same way as described in the example with automatic cycles.

After finishing work, do not forget to immediately remove dry items from the closet and move them to their usual storage location, since you should not constantly keep clothes in the dryer.

How to maintain your dryer?

In order for expensive household appliances to last a long time, they must not only be cleaned regularly, but also maintained. Each cabinet wall should be wiped with a cloth and soapy water to remove dust that usually collects near the air intakes at the bottom and top of the cabinet. If this is not done, dirt and dust can cause the cabinet to fail.drying cabinet maintenance

That is why, for safety, it is worth using a vacuum cleaner at least once a year to clean the air intakes, as well as the top of the cabinet. Plus, don’t forget about a container to collect condensate. If your model has it, it needs to be emptied regularly when it is full, which will be indicated by a special indicator.
