The door mechanism itself is extremely simple, but it has one drawback, which manifests itself in built-in PMM models. We are talking about a situation when, during operation, the door suddenly stops locking in the half-open position, or even stops holding in the fully open state. Let's remove the machine from the niche

Do not rush to adjust the Bosch dishwasher door, because first you need to carefully prepare for the repair. Preparation will simplify further stages of work, so you should not skip it.

• First, disconnect the dishwasher from all communications, and also remove it from the kitchen unit in which it is installed.
• Prepare all the necessary tools with materials that are usually found in any home.
• Carefully read the instructions for restoring the door's functionality and only then proceed with the repair.

And if everything is clear with the third point, because you are currently performing it, then it’s worth dwelling on the first two in more detail. You need to disconnect the unit from the power supply and water supply, not forgetting to carefully roll up the wire and inlet hose to hang them on a special mount at the back of the PMM.

Don't forget to plug the end of the filling hose with a stopper.

Most often, the “home assistant” is installed in a niche using special fasteners that fix it in the kitchen set. To remove it, you will need a Phillips screwdriver to unscrew all the fasteners, disconnect the housing fasteners, and then remove the machine itself. Be careful with the equipment, because it may not weigh very much, but if it is handled incorrectly and dropped, it can be seriously damaged, which will significantly increase the cost of repairs. Pre-cover the floors with rags or unnecessary towels so as not to accidentally flood the floors with water that could remain after the last working cycle, and also to install the machine on a soft surface and not hit the floor. This way you will have free access to all sides of the device so that adjusting the dishwasher door is comfortable.

Well, among the tools, in addition to a Phillips screwdriver, you will also need a hexagon, pliers and a 1.5 mm metal cable. Let's make an adjustment

Now that the “home assistant” is ready for restoration, you can begin repairs at home. First, you need to remove the side walls, as well as the PMM cover, so that you can easily get to the smooth door opening mechanism. At this point, the partial analysis of the equipment will be completed; only work on the mechanism itself will remain.

• Start with the screws that secure the right side of the machine. Unscrew them and remove the wall.
• Move to the clips holding the left wall in place and then remove that too.
• Unscrew the retaining screws from the top cover, which should also be temporarily removed to the side.

On the front, under the cover, you can see two screws, on the sides of which there are cables running through the body and at the end connecting to the springs. This is exactly what the door opening mechanism looks like, which needs to be worked with in order to restore the functionality of the element. It is important to fine-tune these parts to either restore the door to open smoothly or to allow it to be locked in the half-open position again. To do this, follow the instructions:

• take a hexagon and tighten the screws with cables that go to the tensioned springs;
• in a situation where the door opens with force, the tension of the springs must be loosened until the door no longer opens tightly;
• if the door does not lock in the half-open position, then the tension needs to be increased.

It is much worse if one of the cables breaks due to wear and tear, which seriously increases the load on the second cable, causing it to also cease to function normally. In this case, there is no point in adjusting the remaining intact cable, because you just need to replace the broken element. What should I do for this?

• Loosen the screw that holds the damaged cable.
• Using pliers, remove the cable from the screw, and then disconnect it from the spring.
• Install a new metal cable in its place, which can be purchased at any specialized store.
• Use pliers to tighten it and secure it to the screw.
• Adjust the tension to adjust the door opening mechanism.
• Reassemble the dishwasher according to the instructions in reverse order.
