Modern washing machines have two “cotton” modes stored in their memory. These are the “Cotton” and “Cotton Quick” programs. Despite the similarity of names, the algorithms differ significantly from each other. The “Cotton” mode in the LG washing machine is one of the most popular. How does the basic clap algorithm work?
The “Cotton” function is a must on any LG automatic machine. It is quite long, lasting about an hour and a half. When the mode is activated, the intelligence of the washing machine determines how much laundry is loaded into the drum and sets the optimal cycle time. The water temperature can be adjusted from 20°C to a maximum of 95°C.
“Cotton” is a universal mode; the user can always adjust the water heating temperature and spin speed.
The drum rotates at different intensities throughout the cycle. First slowly, then faster, then more smoothly or in different directions to prevent the laundry from bunching up. When starting the “cotton” mode, you can use powder or gel designed for automatic washing. The spin speed can be set to any value, up to the maximum speed provided in the machine.
Operation of the additional “clap” algorithm
In addition to the main mode, modern LG washing machines also have the “Cotton Fast” or “Cotton ECO” function. This algorithm does not work like the main program. Let's look at the basic settings of such a cycle.
Within the “Cotton Fast” mode, the maximum possible heating temperature is 60°C. It is possible to reduce it to 30°C, 40°C or run a cycle in cold water. It will not be possible to set the degree above the permissible level.
The cycle time is stored in memory, but it may vary depending on the spin speed the user has selected and whether the extra rinse is activated. The more options are connected, the higher the temperature of the water, the longer the wash will take.
When starting “Cotton Quick” you can use the same detergents as with the main “cotton” algorithm. If necessary, spinning can be turned off completely. In parallel with the program, you can set a delayed start timer, set a pre-wash, activate an intensive mode or time saving.
Other modes of LG equipment
There are many modes stored in the memory of modern ElG washing machines, so choosing the optimal one for caring for any type of fabric is not difficult. A description of all washing programs is presented in the instructions for the machine. By looking at the user manual, it's easy to figure out which function does what. Let's look at the basic algorithms.
- Fast 30. This mode is ideal for washing lightly soiled items. The cycle lasts only half an hour at a temperature of 30°C. If you set it to 40°C, the duration will increase slightly. When selecting this function, it is important that the drum is no more than half loaded.
- Synthetics. The mode is ideal for everyday clothes made of nylon, polyester, acrylic. Washing is carried out at 40°C, which guarantees gentle care of the fabric. Cycle duration is 1 hour 10 minutes.
- Delicate. The program runs for 30-40 minutes, the temperature can be adjusted from 30 to 40 degrees.During the cycle, the drum rotates smoothly and slowly so as not to damage the structure of the fabric fibers. The mode is optimal for satin, silk items, underwear, and lace.
- Duvet blanked. The name of the mode makes it clear when it should be launched. Designed for the care of jackets, bedspreads, pillows and other filled products. The cycle duration is one and a half hours, the water is heated to 40°C.
- Wool. Washing takes place at 40°C, cycle duration – 56 minutes. The drum rotates slowly, spinning is not provided within the cycle.
- Baby's clothes. The algorithm is used for washing children's clothes. The cycle runs for 100 minutes. The “highlight” of the mode is rinsing in a large amount of water, due to this the powder is completely removed from the fibers of the fabric.
In addition to the main washing modes, various additional options are stored in the intelligence of the washing machine. They are activated by buttons on the control panel. Let's figure out what functions we are talking about.
- Biocare. This option will be useful if the laundry loaded into the machine has stubborn stains (from blood, grass, chocolate).
- Steam processing. TrueSteam technology ensures mixing of steam and water. Due to this, harmful microorganisms are removed from the fabric fibers. The supplement also helps fight unpleasant odors. The mode execution time is 20 minutes.
- Hypoallergenic. The purpose of the option is clear from its name. Items in the drum are washed at 60°C. The laundry goes through several stages of rinsing, due to which the remaining detergent is completely removed from the fabric fibers.
- Night wash. When this mode is activated, the machine will operate almost silently, so it will not disturb even the most sensitive sleeper.
- Sportswear. The algorithm is suitable for the care of membrane tissue.
- Delayed start. The addition is useful if the wash needs to be started not at the moment, but after some time. Using the function, you can delay the start of the cycle by several hours, from 3 to 24, depending on the model of the machine.
- Additional rinse. This option is especially relevant when washing children's clothes and clothes of people prone to allergies.
Some LG washing machines have a “My Program” option - the user can write their own washing algorithm into the intelligence.
