Options for removing liquid from the tank
If the automatic machine does not respond to any user commands, then it will not be possible to drain the water using a special program. There are several ways to manually empty the tank. It is necessary to assess the situation and choose the preferred method. Main options for forced drainage:
- through the drain hose, without activating the pump;
- unscrewing the waste filter plug;
- opening the hatch door of the washing machine;
- by disconnecting the drain pipe.

Unscrew the plug of the garbage filter
Any Indesit washing machine is equipped with a special filter that prevents foreign objects from entering the pump - coins, paper, paper clips. Algorithm of actions when draining water through a garbage filter:
- Using a slotted screwdriver, release the latches and remove the decorative panel;
- tilt the washer slightly on its left side, carefully lean the body against the wall and place a basin under the bottom to collect the liquid. Make sure that the machine does not slip;
- cover the floor around the SMA with rags that absorb water well;
- Unscrew the filter a few turns until water flows out from under the plug. There is no need to completely remove the filter element from the system;
- collect the liquid in a container.
Unfortunately, it will be very difficult to ensure a “clean” drainage of water in this case; some of the liquid will still spill. The floor will have to be wiped by hand. But there is also a significant advantage of this method - the whole process will take very little time, since you do not have to disassemble the washing machine.
Hose manipulation
The second method will also help free the washing drum in a few minutes. You can quickly and effortlessly remove water from the washing machine through the drain hose.. If access to the place where the hose is connected to the sewer network is free, it is quite possible to use this method. To drain the water yourself:
- disconnect the drain hose from the sewer pipe;
- unfasten the tube from the back wall of the case, remove the plastic retainer holding the sleeve at the base of the washer;
- place the drain hose below the SMA tank, direct its free end into a bathtub, sink or previously prepared container;
- drain the water, it should flow by gravity.
However, not all Indesit washing machines can be drained this way. Modern models are equipped with a special internal loop designed to prevent leakage during operation of the equipment. Then it will be impossible to manually remove water through the drain hose. Thus, a “waterfall” will not flow from the tank when the door is opened suddenly.
The process of removing water is quite simple: you just need to open the machine and use a mug or ladle to scoop out the liquid. You may experience some difficulties when trying to unlock the machine.
You can open the washer using a thin rope. The cord is inserted into the gap between the door and the wall of the housing in the place where the locking lock is located. It is necessary to pull the ends of the rope so that it goes as deep as possible. Actions are performed until a characteristic click is heard. The hatch can then be opened.
If the machine breaks down, you will do anything to empty it of water and get things out of the drum. Therefore, if you cannot unscrew the garbage filter, and the drain hose is clogged and does not allow liquid to flow by gravity, you will have to use this method as the only possible one. Disconnect the pipe
It is better to resort to forced drainage of water through the pipe only as a last resort, when no other method has helped. - remove the top cover of the SMA case, then the back wall;
- find the pipe - it is located under the drum and connected to the pump;

- using pliers, remove the clamp connecting the pipe and the pump;
- disconnect the pipe from the pump - liquid will begin to pour out of it.
! If the water does not drain, it means that there is a blockage in the cavity of the pipe, and the element must be cleaned.
The main disadvantage of this method is the difficulty of implementation. It will be difficult for a woman to move the machine away from the wall or partially disassemble the washing machine. But, you can achieve complete removal of water from the system.
Why did the machine stop?
