However, in our time it is simply impossible to do without an automatic washing machine, which is why after purchasing a studio you have to spend so much time planning and deciding where to put the washing machine in a small apartment. Let’s look at the best options for placing a “home assistant” in a confined space.

We place the machine without violating the law

According to regulations, water equipment should be installed exclusively in the non-residential part of the house. Thus, it turns out that it is impossible to place a washing machine in the living room, as this will be considered a serious violation.

That’s why if a user needs to find a place for a washing machine in a studio apartment, then they can only use the kitchen area, bathroom, and hallway. However, this is usually enough, because if you think carefully, you will be able to find a corner in which large household appliances will not spoil the design of the apartment and will be convenient to use.

As for an ordinary apartment, everything is even simpler with it. Of course, it is also impossible to install SMs in living rooms there, but as a rule, bathrooms, corridors and kitchens there are a little larger, which means that it is easier to place a large device there.

In this situation, it is best to first carefully plan the design of the room, think through and calculate the space for large equipment, and only then buy it, focusing on certain dimensions. Most often, housewives try to place the washing machine in the following rooms:

• bathroom;
• kitchen;
• hallway or corridor;
• balcony or loggia.

The first option is considered the best, because in the bathroom it is most convenient to organize water supply and drainage due to the proximity of all communications. Unfortunately, using this method often becomes a big problem, because in small apartments, and especially in studios, the bathroom is so small that only a sink with a sink, a mirror cabinet above it, and a shower or bath can fit there. In this case, it is permissible to replace the cabinet under the sink with a washing machine, because in this way there may be less storage space in the room, but nothing will interfere with free movement around the room.

Also, sometimes it is worth thinking about abandoning a large bathtub in order to install a shower stall instead. This will free up a lot of space in order to leave a cabinet under the sink and place a “home assistant” in the room. Thanks to this solution, you won’t have to desperately look for a place for detergents throughout the house, since all household chemicals, along with personal hygiene products, will be conveniently stored in the bathroom.There will be even fewer problems if you decide to use a machine with a vertical loading type, the dimensions of which are usually much smaller than those of classic front-loading equipment.

If the maximum drum load is not very important to you, then you can purchase a special compact SM, which can be conveniently hung directly on the wall, where it will not disturb anyone.

If for some reason you are unable to use a bathtub or shower room to place household appliances, then large appliances can be installed in the kitchen area. Most often, even in small kitchens you can find several loopholes at once in order to place a washing machine. For example, the unit can simply be built into a kitchen unit, where it is covered with a countertop and will not spoil the overall design of the room. Unfortunately, equipment does not always fit into a standard cabinet, so you may have to order a model with unique dimensions.

This may not be very cheap, but this way the equipment will definitely not disrupt the uniform style of the room. You can save your family budget on doors for such a cabinet, but only in a situation where the machine fits well into the design. Also, placement in the kitchen area makes sense due to the fact that in this way household appliances will also be located next to all the necessary communications, so there will be almost no costs for organizing drainage or connecting to the water supply.

It is also worth considering the option of installing it in the hallway or corridor. Of course, you should not place a large washing machine directly on the aisle, where it will impede movement. First of all, we are talking about creating a special niche in the corridor, where the machine will be hidden from prying eyes behind a decorative panel.If it is no longer possible to remodel the premises, then you can do it even simpler - hide the SM in a large closet. In this case, there will be no problems with free sockets, but, most likely, you will have to organize an additional connection to the water supply and sewerage system.

Finally, as an auxiliary option that is not very often used, we can mention loggias and balconies. This is also a good option, especially in a situation where large equipment cannot be installed in the house without radical changes in the layout.

In this case, you just need to make sure that the balcony is reliably protected from the cold, so even in winter the temperature there does not drop below +10 degrees Celsius. Otherwise, you will either have to abandon this idea, because there is always waste liquid left in the machine, due to which it can fail in the cold season, or insulate the balcony.

Before installing the washing machine on a loggia or balcony, you should additionally make sure that increased vibration during spinning will not damage the fragile floor covering.

As you can see, even in small studio apartments it is not so difficult to find a place for an automatic “home assistant”. Most of the methods not only do not require serious financial expenditure, but also do not spoil the design of the house. The most important thing is to plan in advance the installation of the SM with the redevelopment of the room, and also take all precautions so as not to damage either household appliances or the apartment itself.
