Washing white jeans in the washing machine

Washing white jeans in the washing machineSnow-white jeans are a decoration for any wardrobe, as they look expensive and stylish. But you need to wear them carefully; light shades are easily soiled and get dirty. White pants suffer even when worn carefully and need to be cleaned regularly. You can wash white jeans in a washing machine, but with some reservations. You can’t just throw your pants into the drum and start the wash - you must follow the instructions.

Daily care

It is better to wash white jeans by hand to ensure maximum gentle care. Washing in an automatic machine is possible, but under certain conditions. First of all, we take care of preparing the pants for washing in advance:

  • check pockets for forgotten items;
  • turn a thing inside out;
  • close all zippers and pockets;
  • check whether the decorative inserts are sewn well;
  • treat local stains and dirt with a stain remover;
  • place the item in a protective mesh bag;
  • load the bag of jeans into the drum;put your jeans in a special bag
  • bring things to a minimum weight;
  • add a suitable detergent to the powder receptacle (ideally a special gel designed for washing white jeans, or a triple-action gel capsule).

If the jeans have glued decor, rhinestones, or buttons, then machine washing is contraindicated - soapy water will wash away the glue and the elements will fall off.

Having loaded the machine, we proceed to setting up the cycle. We turn on the “Delicate” or “Manual” program and check the set parameters. The water heating should be set to 30-40 degrees, and the spin should drop to a minimum, 600-800.It is better to rinse twice so that all the washing gel is removed from the denim fibers. At the end of the program, carefully remove the jeans from the drum and dry them in a ventilated area. Machine drying is prohibited, as is exposure to direct ultraviolet light.

How and with what to remove various contaminants?

The modern market offers a variety of products for washing jeans: bleaches, stain removers and gels. To remove even the most difficult stain, just follow the instructions on the package. But all industrial compounds have a big “minus” - they are synthetic and can be harmful to health and cause allergies.

When selecting detergents, you need to look for formulations designed specifically for denim items.

For proper washing, it is better to use folk recipes. Using boric acid, potassium permanganate and ammonia, you can whiten jeans quickly and cheaply. The main thing is to mix the components correctly and do not forget about the proportions.

  • Boric acid. It is even suitable for washing children's clothes, as it does not cause allergic reactions and has a disinfecting effect. Add the powder to hot water and soak for 30 minutes. If the stains are old or ingrained, then you need to increase the soaking time by another 1-2 hours. Afterwards we wash the product on our hands and rinse thoroughly.home remedies to remove stains
  • Potassium permanganate. Manganese is an excellent household bleach. To remove a stain or remove gray from jeans, you need to generously soap the item until it becomes viscous, then dilute water with potassium permanganate (2 tablespoons for every 10 liters) and soak the pants in the solution for 3-4 hours. We monitor the temperature - 30-40 degrees are considered optimal. At the “finish”, the product is once again washed by hand, rinsed and dried in the standard way.

Jeans should not be wrung, curled or dried in an automatic machine!

  • Ammonia. Works in tandem with peroxide or soda and salt. In the first case, mix the same amount of components, dilute in water heated to 40 degrees and soak the jeans for 30-40 minutes. It is not necessary to maintain the proportions, since even with an excess of bleach, the item is not in danger. In the second - dissolve 6 tbsp. l. both powders in 2 tbsp. l. alcohol, add liquid to the basin and leave the pants to soak. Afterwards we wash it as usual and dry it on the balcony.

Dirty white jeans are not a death sentence. To remove even the most contrasting and stubborn stains, just follow the instructions above.
