Is it possible to wash nylon tights in a washing machine?

Tights are in every woman's wardrobe. They help girls out all year round - they are an integral part of office style. Since nylon caps are worn almost every day, the question of how to wash them correctly is always relevant.

Nylon is a thin and fragile material that requires careful care. Let's figure out whether it is allowed to wash nylon tights in a washing machine, or is it better to do it manually. What recommendations should you follow to avoid damaging the fabric?

General rules of care

To begin with, it is better to study the product label. Kapronkas come in different thicknesses, and care recommendations may vary slightly. The basic rules for washing tights remain the same:

• Do not load nylon into the drum together with things that have decoration on them. In the process, tights may get caught on a fastener, button, zipper or sharp rhinestones and tear;
• give preference to gels for delicate fabrics. Avoid using washing powders. It is strictly forbidden to use compounds containing chlorine or other aggressive components, they can damage the fabric structure;
• It is better not to use soap - stains may remain on the nylon;
• When washing by hand, remove all jewelry from your hands. Rings and bracelets may leave marks on the material;
• automatic washing is contraindicated for tights with defects - small holes or puffs. Otherwise, the fabric will tear even more.

Kapronkas are very fragile. Girls have to change them often because of the next puff or “arrow”. Therefore, you should wash your tights as carefully as possible, so as not to throw the item away after cleaning.

Is it possible to use technology?

You have to wash your stockings very often. After a hard day at work, I don’t want to tinker with them manually, so the girls rely on the help of a washing machine. Almost all models of nylon tights are machine washable on a delicate cycle. When the dirt is too strong, it is better to pre-soak the product in soapy water for 20-30 minutes.

To wash nylons in an automatic washing machine, you need to:

• sort things by color. White and beige tights are loaded together, black, dark brown and gray are placed in other batches. This division into “piles” will help to avoid over-dying light-colored stockings;
  
• put the tights in a special mesh. Thanks to the bag, the nylons will not stretch or tear;
• select the most delicate mode. The nylons should not be wrung out, so be sure to disable this function;
• Make sure that the water temperature does not exceed 30°C. Kapron does not tolerate high temperatures very well. Also, too hot water can cause the material to stretch;
• pour liquid detergent for delicate fabrics into the powder receptacle;
• start the cycle.

If there is no special bag for washing, you can put the caprons in a regular sock of a suitable color.

For each tights, a sock of a similar shade is selected. For flesh-colored ones - light, for black ones - dark. Next, the caprons are placed inside, the sock is tied into a knot or secured with an elastic band.

There is no need to add bleach or stain remover to the washing machine. Any stubborn stains should be removed from the fabric before loading into the drum.

Traditional way

If time allows, it is better to wash nylon tights by hand.The procedure will take about 20 minutes, or a little more when there is heavy contamination. The advantages of the manual method are obvious - the stockings will not remain in water for a long time, the risk of their tangling, stretching and damage will be reduced.. The algorithm of actions will be as follows:

• wet the nylons;
• lather them with a delicate cleaning gel for washing;
• leave the tights in this position to “sour” for 10 minutes;
• fill a bowl with cool water, temperature no more than 30°C;
• add detergent to the container, mix the soap solution well;
• put the stockings inside and leave to soak for another 5 minutes;
• Lightly “wrinkle” the material to wash away dirt. Please note that strong pressure can damage the fragile fibers of the fabric;
• rinse the nylon in clean water several times.

To squeeze out excess water, simply squeeze the caprons in your fist.

It is forbidden to twist the tights during the spin cycle. Nylon is a fragile fabric, so it is easily deformed after such treatment. Next, all that remains is to dry the stockings. Let's figure out how to do it right.

Carefully remove moisture

As already mentioned, twisting or folding caprons to remove excess water is prohibited. It's enough to just squeeze them in your fist. After this, it is recommended to lay out the tights on a terry towel or cotton sheet, and cover the top with the second part of the linen, gently pressing down. The towel will absorb any remaining moisture. Then you need to hang the item for further drying.

It is worth drying nylon, taking into account the following recommendations:

• accelerated high-temperature drying is harmful to the material, so you should not put tights on a radiator or blow them with a hot hairdryer;
• You can quickly dry the caprons by hanging them on hangers in front of an open window or fan. A draft will help dry the fabric;
• It is allowed to hang stockings on the balcony, but only in cloudy weather. Direct rays of the sun are unfavorable for the material;
• on hot days, immediately put on wet tights. After 10-15 minutes you will be able to calmly go about your business. Due to body temperature, the fabric will dry very quickly.

If you have absolutely no time to wait, you can dry the nylons with an iron. Be sure to set the device to the minimum heating temperature. Then lay the stockings on the ironing board, cover with a cotton cloth and iron the product.
