Where are LG washing machines assembled?

Everyone knows that LG is a large company from South Korea that produces various home appliances, including washing machines. Drawing an analogy, many mistakenly believe that since the company is from South Korea, it means that LG washing machines should also be produced in Korea, but this is not at all the case. If we pay attention to the model range of these washing machines sold in Russia, we will understand that only a tenth of them are produced in Korea, the rest is assembled in third countries.

Where is your machine from?

A logical and reasonable question arises: where did that washing machine come from that I recently bought in Russian store, if not from South Korea? Well, firstly, there is no need to panic, the manufacturer is obliged to indicate the country of origin of a particular washing machine in the operating instructions attached to it, and there is an inscription on the body. And secondly, if a car is assembled on the territory of third countries, then it will not necessarily be bad, because the production of components and assembly is carried out using the same technology.

However, I would like to know where the LG Group produces washing machines and where this equipment is brought to us in Russia? Let's figure out in which countries the LG Group has launched production of LG washing machines.

1. Russia. In 2006, a large LG Group enterprise began operating in the Moscow region, producing refrigerators, televisions and more than 100 models of washing machines. After 10 years, the company has produced more than 7,500,000 LG washing machines, becoming one of the largest LG Group factories producing such equipment.
   
2. South Korea.LG Home Appliances is a division of the LG Electronics Inc. group of companies, which in turn is part of the LG Group conglomerate of companies. Production bases are located in Seoul. They assemble high-tech washing machines of the latest generation and components for them.
3. China. One of the company's most massive production facilities is located in China. Enterprises that assemble brand washing machines LG are located in the suburbs of Hong Kong. There are also component factories in the cities of Shenzhen and Huizhou. Washing machines with large drums and functions are being assembled in the suburbs of Hong Kong Fuzzy Logic, half load, water cooling before dumping, etc.
4. Taiwan. There is a small assembly plant for washing machines, refrigerators and microwave ovens in Taipei and component production lines in the vicinity of Xinbei and Xin Dian Qu.

6. Indonesia. LG does not have its own assembly lines for the production of washing machines, but it produces components for “home assistants” and sends them to China. Ready-made washing machines for sale on the domestic market are supplied from China, the Philippines and South Korea.
   

Important! The vast majority of LG washing machines sold in Russia are made in the Moscow region, this is approximately 74%. The remaining 26% comes from expensive models of this brand, which are imported from China and South Korea.

A few words about the company

LG Group began its history with a small enterprise opened by an enterprising Korean in the capital of South Korea, Seoul, in 1947.The factory specialized in the production of hand and face creams, as well as in the production of a small line of household chemicals. Until the mid-50s, Lac High Industries was looking for itself, trying to produce either plastics or toothpaste. In 1956, with the financial support of the head of state, a small company called Goldstar spun off from the Lak High company and began producing household appliances and electronics.

Goldstar was developing rapidly, and by 1959 it was releasing and beginning to actively produce transistor radios. In 1962, Goldstar entered the international market with a whole line of electronics for the home: receivers, electric fans, telephones. In 1969, the company released its first washing machine, which was actively sold mainly in the domestic market. In 1976, one of the largest factories in Korea for the production of home appliances was opened in Changwon, where washing machines were also produced.

By 1995, Goldstar was already a large group consisting of dozens of companies producing a wide variety of products: from household and industrial chemicals to household appliances, electronics and components for them. In the same year, it was decided to create a group of corporations formally uniting Goldstar and Lucky into the LG Group.

Today LG Group is the world's largest manufacturer of not only electronics and chemicals, but also household appliances. Every year, enterprises of the industrial group produce hundreds of thousands of washing machines almost all over the world.
