For example, you cannot dry tulle in a dryer, although many housewives neglect this rule and process products made from this material in a machine. Let's look into this issue and the risks that appear during such drying.

Will a dryer ruin your tulle?

Many users self-confidently dry in the machine even those things that are recommended not to be dried in it due to the fact that modern household appliances are very careful with any clothing. Therefore, you just need to choose a working cycle with air heating up to 40 degrees Celsius and a delicate effect, and nothing will happen to the tulle product. The only question is, why is such tulle drying necessary if, after being in the dryer drum, a large item becomes crumpled and covered with strong creases that are very difficult to smooth out?

Therefore, housewives usually try to use the dryer so that after the working cycle the tulle is dried and smoothed. This idea has its place, because the dryer is capable of creating a smoothing effect on some products, for example, synthetics. • low drum rotation speed;
• no spin or minimum number of drum revolutions per minute during spinning.

To maintain their shape, it is better to place tulle items in special covers for washing, or simply in a pillowcase if we are talking about small items.

Items made from tulle are usually very large, which makes them inconvenient to wash in automatic “home assistants”. That is why manufacturers have prepared several modes in which tulle can be washed. This list includes the “Delicate”, “Hand Wash”, “Delicate Fabrics”, “Wool” cycles and some others.

To save energy and water, you can use the eco mode, which is available on some SM models. It is also ideal for processing tulle products, because the water on it only heats up to 40 degrees Celsius, and light curtains and other delicate items are recommended to be washed at a temperature of 30 to 40 degrees and at a low speed, say, up to 500 rpm drums per minute. When the working cycle is completed, remove the tulle and leave it to dry naturally, or immediately hang it on the window if the fabric is light and seems almost dry.

An iron is not needed for tulle, because usually after hanging the curtains themselves smooth out under their own weight.Plus, the iron can quickly damage delicate items, so it is better not to use it, or use it at your own risk on the weakest settings, and iron only through gauze or cotton cloth.

It’s even better to use a steamer or a modern iron with a steaming option instead of a classic iron. Hot steam will allow the item to straighten out faster under its own weight and look as if it was actively ironed with a regular iron. Therefore, a vertical steamer is not only safe, but also effective.
