How to reduce washing time in a washing machine

How to reduce washing time in a washing machineQuite often, people complain that their “home assistants” take too long to wash things. In response to this, engineers are developing the shortest possible programs, thanks to which clothes can be washed in just 15 minutes. However, even this cycle duration does not completely satisfy users. How can you reduce the washing time in a washing machine without compromising quality? Today we will figure out just that.

Tactics for reducing program time

It is extremely difficult to answer the question directly, because modern machines have a number of different programs and control algorithms. And the washing process itself is not only the contact of things, water and detergents. It consists of several stages, which include:

  • pre-processing of products (enabled only in certain modes);
  • main wash (longest stage);
  • rinsing;
  • spin

Thus, we see that the duration of washing depends on many factors. However, the good news is that they can always be adjusted. Let's take, for example, a program like “Cotton”. Usually it lasts from 1.5 to 3 hours, but if we reduce the washing temperature, the time will be reduced by a fairly decent amount: from 10 to 30 minutes. Everything will depend on what temperature you choose.choose a temperature of 30 degrees

If you remove the pre-wash, the duration will decrease even more, on average by 20 minutes. Among other things, the spin speed also affects the time. By adjusting it from 1200 to 800 rpm, we help the program decrease by another 10 minutes.If the selected mode involves additional rinsing, you can also turn it off, giving yourself another 15 free minutes.

Remember: in the accelerated format you can only wash those items that do not contain heavy dirt and stains, otherwise you will be working for time, not for results!

When we add up all these manipulations, we find that the washing process now takes not the usual 3 hours, but 2 or even less. And if the program you chose was already short, you can reduce it to a convenient 40-50 minutes. However, it is worth noting that you should not get too carried away with such life hacks: there is always a risk of disabling some important option, which will subsequently lead to poor washing quality.

Long wash due to breakage

It’s one thing when an automatic machine takes a long time to wash, because it’s programmed that way, and quite another when it worked properly, but soon began to freeze, and the overall timing of the process increased. In this situation, it will be necessary to eliminate the breakdown, but first you need to find the reason why it could have occurred. As a rule, the main factors include:

  • overload The unit takes a lot of time to distribute the laundry placed in it, which is why the washing cycle is extended. Solving this problem is as easy as shelling pears: you just need to take out the extra things from the drum;too much laundry has been loaded into the drum
  • problem with filling water into the tank. The operating time also increases when the machine takes a long time to fill with water. This usually happens when the filter or inlet hose is clogged, or when the inlet valve is defective. The valve that shuts off the water may not be fully open;
  • long drain.It takes a few minutes to remove the waste liquid from the tank. When starting a standard cycle, water is drained from the system at least 3-4 times. From which it follows that if you add another 5-10 minutes for each such drain, the program execution time will increase significantly. Water will have difficulty leaving the drum if there is a blockage in the drain hose, garbage filter or pump;pump in the washing machine
  • malfunction of the heating element and temperature sensor. In this situation, the water will heat up to the required temperature much longer, and this, in turn, will increase the program execution time. This happens when too much scale accumulates on the heating element. But the problem may also lie in a faulty thermistor that incorrectly records the heating temperature of the liquid;
  • damage to the main control unit. The main “symptom” of such a breakdown is the machine freezing during the washing process, after which it starts the cycle again. It is best to entrust checking the block to professionals.

As we can see, the list is quite impressive. Before fixing the problem, it is extremely important to conduct a thorough diagnosis to get to the true cause. This is the only way you will be able to determine what kind of failure occurred in the system and successfully neutralize it.
