Putting the new machine into operation
A Gorenje washing machine just delivered from the store will not be ready for washing. The machine must be prepared for the start of the first cycle. First, the unit must “stand” at room temperature for several hours, and then “clean” itself of factory stickers and markings. Afterwards, the transport bolts are unscrewed and the connection to the communications is established. It is important to do everything according to the instructions: taking into account regulations and safety requirements.
Before operating the Gorenje washing machine, it is necessary to remove the transport bolts - it is prohibited to turn on the machine without removing them!
The washing machine connected to the communications can be started. But don’t rush to load the laundry - first you need to “run” the machine idle. We are talking about a technical cycle, which necessarily takes place on a high-temperature program with an empty drum, but with detergent. This move will solve three problems at once:
- the machine will be washed from factory grease and dust;
- the characteristic chemical smell will go away;
- The washing machine will be checked for functionality (whether water is being filled, the tank is emptying, whether the heating element is working, etc.)

More often, the problem is a loosely locked hatch door, which, out of habit, is scary to press too hard against the body. To start washing clothes, proceed as follows:
- insert the power cord from Gorenje into the socket;
- turn the water tap;
- put pre-sorted laundry into the drum (remember the minimum and maximum load weight);
- close the hatch tightly;
- open the powder receptacle and add detergent (we will describe in detail below where and how much);
- press the “On” button;
- scroll the programmer to the desired program;
- We start the cycle by clicking on “Start/Pause”.
All! All you have to do is wait for the machine to complete the cycle, signaling the end of the program with a sound signal. But even after the melody, do not rush to open the hatch immediately - the electronic locking is removed only after 3-5 minutes.
Add detergent

- choose natural compositions, preferably gel ones;
- dose the product correctly, following the instructions for the powder;
- use measuring spoons and caps;
- Do not confuse the powder receptacle compartments.
The last point is among the most important. The fact is that most Gorenje washing machines have a dispenser with three compartments. The left one is for the main wash, the far right is for the preliminary wash. Only liquid additional products, conditioners, rinses and softeners are poured into the central cuvette. If you mix up the compartments, the quality of the wash will suffer greatly.
Use the machine carefully

- Measure the hardness of your tap water and use softeners if necessary.
