If the program on your Beko machine freezes during the washing process, then there is no need to panic and call a repairman. You can “unwind” the washing machine without the help of a service center. The main thing is to know what to do first and what elements of the system to check. You need to calm down, secure the machine, study typical breakdowns, identify the “culprit” and begin repairs. Now step by step and with instructions.

Situations that cause freezing

When the machine freezes, the first thing we do is rule out a one-time “glitch” of the system. To do this, disconnect the machine from the power supply, leave it for 15-20 minutes and reapply the current. As a rule, a “reboot” clears the error and allows you to continue the interrupted wash.

If restarting the system does not help, then the problem is more serious. To continue diagnostics, you need to drain the water from the washing machine and remove items from the drum. It will not be possible to enable the “Drain” program when it freezes, so we operate through the garbage filter:

• We find the technical hatch door in the lower right corner of the body;
• pry the door open with a flat screwdriver, unlatch the latches and remove it;
• pay attention to the dark drain plug and the emergency drain hose located nearby;
• place a container under the filter;
• unscrew the filter, holding the protruding “handle”, and collect the water;
• We wait for the automatic activation of the UBL, open the hatch and remove things from the drum.

The hatch blocking device is activated 2-3 minutes after the drum is empty.

After the drain, you can start looking for the cause of the freeze. Modern washing machines, including Beko, require complex electronic controls.The system works due to numerous “tracks”, sensors, microcircuits and chips, which at the slightest voltage surges burn out and fail.

So, the following can lead to a system freeze:

• Drum overload caused by exceeding the established maximum weight of laundry;
• incorrect choice of program;
• problems with UBL;
• blockage in the drainage system;
• inlet valve failure (the machine cannot draw water);
• pump or motor failure;
• electronics malfunction.

Beko belongs to the budget segment of washing machines, so the models produced under the brand do not feature “pumped up” electronics. However, problems with the control board are rare, and more often the user encounters easily fixable breakdowns. All that remains is to find the source of the freeze and fix it.

Problem search algorithm

A sudden freeze complicates the situation because the self-diagnosis system does not have time to “work” and does not display an error code on the display. Therefore, you will have to look for the fault “blindly”, focusing on logic, knowledge of the washing machine and the recommendations of specialists. First of all, we try to analyze the behavior of the car before braking, or more precisely, when exactly the failure occurred - immediately after the start or during the washing process.

If the machine stops immediately after turning on the program, then there are two reasons: either the UBL is faulty, or the electronics “fly.” There is a third option - user error, drum overload or incorrectly selected mode. However, in the latter cases, the self-diagnosis system manages to detect the problem and reports it with an encrypted combination. With the blocking and the board, the machine “goes silent” without signals.

When a freeze is caused by UBL, the machine may also display an error code on the display.But more often this does not happen - the system resets the program completely and stops responding to user commands. To verify that the electronic lock is at fault, just try to open the hatch door. If the handle gives way, then the lock is faulty and needs to be repaired. Otherwise, the device is fine.

At the start, the control board may also fail. Here the problem is more serious, since diagnosing and repairing the module with your own hands is extremely risky - sensitive microcircuits can be easily damaged irrevocably. It is better to entrust the flashing of the unit to service center professionals who will do the following manipulations:

• pull out the powder receptacle;
• Unhook the instrument panel from the body by unscrewing the bolts holding it;
• They will begin diagnosing the board (using a voltmeter to “ring” all contacts and microelements).

If the freeze occurs during washing, then we are talking about completely different malfunctions. To localize a breakdown, it is necessary to analyze the behavior of the machine before the failure: the level and nature of the noise, the current stage of the cycle, the appearance of warning signals (such as an indication or an error code). As a rule, one of the typical scenarios takes place.

• The machine turned on, the washing program was selected, the hatch door “seized”, and the unit began to hum. However, after a few minutes, a hissing and a slight crackling noise was heard, after which the machine froze and reset the mode. It turns out that an error occurred when drawing water - therefore, the inlet valve or the water supply system is to blame.
• The machine started up, the tank filled with water, but when trying to spin the drum, the equipment froze. Before stopping, there was a strong rumble and crackling sound, but the car never accelerated.In this case, the reason for braking is a faulty engine.
• After starting, the washing machine took in water without any problems and spun the drum, but when moving to the rinsing stage, a malfunction occurred. The machine hummed, trying to drain the water, and froze. There is no doubt that the drainage system is clogged or the pump has failed.

It is strongly not recommended to diagnose and repair the control board at home - you need knowledge, experience and special equipment!

To fix the problem, you will have to check every possible “sore” spot. It is necessary to partially disassemble the washing machine, get to the valve, motor or pump and evaluate their performance using a multimeter set to measure resistance. The shortest way to the motor or pump is to tilt the unit back, remove the bottom and illuminate the “insides” with a flashlight. Then we connect the tester probes and compare the displayed Ohms with the normal values.

Identifying the source of the freeze is half the battle; the other half requires fixing the problem. In theory, repairing and replacing the main components of a washing machine looks simple, but in practice, many novice craftsmen do not understand what to do and in what sequence. There should be no doubt, otherwise the desire to save money will result in the “lethal outcome” of technology.

But don’t be afraid to do your own repairs. You just need to soberly assess your strengths and not risk the washer in vain. So, if there are problems with the electronics, and the control board in particular, it is recommended to immediately contact the service center. While a clogged drain, pump, motor and valves can be dealt with at home.

The easiest way to solve a clogged drain problem.It is enough to rinse the drain hose, clean the debris filter and remove dirt from the pump. Most self-taught people will be able to cope with replacing the intake valve if they follow the following instructions:

• disconnect equipment from communications;
• remove the top cover of the machine;
• find the valve;
• disconnect the wiring, clamps and connected pipes from the device;
• remove the valve;
• purchase a new device and install it in place of the old one.
