Let's figure out whether ballet flats for dancing can be washed in a washing machine and whether automatic washing will harm them.

After purchasing Czechs, be sure to read their label. The manufacturer indicates the best way to clean shoes and whether automatic washing is allowed. If there is no tag, inspect the ballet shoes, figure out what material they are made of, how well they are glued together. For example, you will have to remove dirt from natural suede products manually, since the material deteriorates after a long stay in water.

In any case, using a machine to wash dance ballet shoes is always a risk. But if you decide to try, be sure to take note of the following recommendations:

  • select the special “Shoes” program. If it is not there, run a delicate wash or manual mode;

You must not step on the heel, trying to pull off the shoe, or pull out the elastic. It is also forbidden to wear them half-shod.   • Suede shoes should not be completely wet at all. It is recommended to buy a foam cleaner and a special brush for suede. It is also advisable to purchase a special product for cleaning natural leather;
  • To neutralize the unpleasant odor, you can use a homemade bag filled with baking soda. The case is simply placed inside the ballet shoes for several hours;
  • Table vinegar will help to cope with the stench - you need to soak a cotton pad in the acid and put it in the shoes. After a couple of hours, remove the cotton wool and air the shoes in the fresh air.

Proper care will ensure the safety of your dance shoes. If after each lesson you lightly clean the shoes, ventilate and dry them, no washing in an automatic machine will be required.
