How does gentle boiling work?

In fact, there is nothing special about this program. It is not much different from the boiling modes offered by some other imported brands. However, good sales are ensured by high-quality and loud advertising, and without a beautiful name it is much more difficult to do it, hence such an interesting name that stands out from the names from other manufacturers. Well, the goal of attracting attention, of course, was achieved, but at the same time, buyers were misled.

The most interesting question: why is the program called gentle? After all, the water in the process heats up to 95 degrees, and the use of aggressive bleaching agents is also permissible. Only durable fabrics can withstand this.

The fact is that the boiling itself lasts 20-25 minutes, although the entire program itself is very long. During washing, the drum rotates as slowly as possible, with stops, so that the detergents are completely dissolved and the heating occurs evenly. The laundry in the drum and the liquid mix better with each other.

Attention! After boiling, rinse in cool water begins, followed by spinning and, if available, drying.

However, frequent use of this function puts increased stress on the elements of the washing machine. The heating element takes the first blow, but the tank, pump, bearings and other parts also do not tolerate high temperatures well. So even experts advise resorting to boiling in SM no more than once a month.

Why can’t you boil it in the machine often?

It is strictly forbidden to use boiling in a washing machine frequently, and even in combination with citric acid, despite the fact that this function was personally proposed for use by the manufacturers.

There is a small element in the washing machine called a breather (located at the top of the tank). It communicates with the atmosphere and is created to normalize pressure, and it is through it that the steam generated during boiling should escape, so as not to linger inside the washer for a long time and not harm the insides.

However, the hole in the breather is small, about the size of a match head, and sometimes it gets clogged. But even if the hole is not clogged, there is a lot of steam, and water has accumulated in the pipe, the following situation arises:

• steam cannot find a way out, since the hole is either clogged or very tiny, there is water in the pipe, the hatch is sealed;
• then the steam rushes out through the oil seal and bearings;
• as a result, these elements, especially the oil seal, are destroyed;
• if the process also uses lemon, acetic or any other acid, parts fail even faster, because hot acid simply corrodes them.

Thus, from time to time, the boiling mode in the SM can be useful and save the housewife the time and effort that would have been spent on working with boiling water. But for SM its frequent use is contraindicated.
