Child lock on Beko washing machine

Modern automatic washing machines are equipped with various useful functions. For example, the child lock option on the Beko washing machine allows you to protect the “home assistant” from inquisitive kids who are very attracted by the glowing display of the appliance. To prevent your child from interrupting the wash, it is better to turn on the protective mode. In addition, Beko machines have other additions that it is advisable to master. The functions will make using the machine more convenient and also improve the quality of care for things.

Lock activation and unlocking

The locking function is provided to prevent children and adults from interfering with the operation of the automatic machine. After all, not only curious kids can twirl the programmer and press a couple of keys. Not a single family member is safe from accidental touching of the device. If the control panel is locked, you will not be able to change the settings for the selected washing mode.

If you turn the programmer when the function is activated, the lights of the first and second buttons of additional options will blink three times. There will be no changes to the running program. When the panel is locked, you cannot adjust the wash temperature and spin speed, or add rinse or other additions to the cycle.

To enable the control panel lock, you must simultaneously press the first and second additional function buttons for 3 seconds.

You can disable child mode in the same way. If you hold down the first and second buttons of additional options, the control panel will be locked. While the keys are pressed, their indicators will flash.

On some Beko models, the key combination to activate Child Mode may be slightly different. All information regarding launching the option can be found in the instructions for the equipment. There is also a hint on the control panel itself; the buttons needed to enable the function are marked with a lock.

If the dashboard is locked and you need to pause the cycle, you can do this without disabling the protection function. You just need to turn the program selector to the “OFF” position. To resume washing, the programmer knob must be returned to its previous position.

If the lights in the house are turned off while the “locked” machine is operating, then when the electricity supply is restored, the cycle will continue with the function turned on. There is no need to re-activate child mode.

Delayed start

Most modern Beko washing machines have a delayed start option. Using the function, you can delay the start of the washing program for some time (from 1 to 24 hours, depending on the model). Activating the add-on is very simple, we’ll tell you how to do it.

• Load items into the drum.
• Pour the powder into the detergent dispenser. Washing gels cannot be used when setting a delayed start. While the machine is waiting to start, the composition may drip onto the laundry, leaving stains on things.
• Use the programmer to select the washing mode and, if necessary, adjust the water heating temperature and spin speed.
• Set the delay time using the “Delayed Start” button. If you press the button once, the wash will be delayed for 3 hours, and again for 6 hours. The third press will “delay” the start of the cycle by 9 hours.
• Press the Start/Pause button. When the delay time has expired, the machine will automatically start washing.

While the time is counting down, you can open the hatch and add more laundry into the drum. The door is not locked until the cycle starts.

When you have set a delay of 3 hours, but there is a need to extend the interval, simply press the “Delayed Start” button as many times as necessary to set the optimal time. If you want to cancel the function and start washing immediately, follow these steps:

• set the delay interval to zero (this is done by pressing the “Delayed Start” key or turning the programmer to any position);
• select the desired washing mode, adjust the temperature and spin speed if necessary;
• start the program with the “Start” button.

The function is very convenient for starting washing at night. In the evening, you can give the machine the command to start working at 5 am. Then, when family members wake up, the items in the drum will be washed and ready for subsequent drying.

Other additional features

Various options programmed into the memory of Beko washing machines can significantly improve the quality of laundry care. You must select functions before starting the main program. It is also possible to connect the addition already during the cycle, but only if the machine has not yet moved to the corresponding washing stage.

It is allowed to connect to the cycle only those additional functions that are compatible with the main washing program.

For example, the “Prewash” and “Quick Cycle” options are incompatible. Therefore, it will not be possible to connect them at the same time; you will have to choose the add-on that is more important at the moment.

Depending on the model of the automatic machine, the set of additional functions will differ. Let's figure out what options are programmed into the intelligence of most Beko washing machines.

• Soak.The function should be connected to the main wash if very dirty items are loaded into the drum. The laundry will lie in water with detergent for some time, due to this you can deal with the most difficult stains.
• Quick wash. This option can be used when running the “Cotton” and “Synthetics” programs, with the drum half loaded, for lightly soiled items. The function will reduce the main cycle time and the number of rinses.
• Easy ironing. When this function is started, the drum movements will be softer and the spin cycle will be less intense. Thanks to this, the laundry will not become wrinkled during the cycle. In addition, washing occurs in more water.
• Removing animal hair. This function is designed to more effectively wash off pet hairs from things. When you start the option, a prewash and several rinse stages will be added to the main cycle. The machine will also fill the tank with 30% more water than usual.
• Additional rinse. By activating the function, you can achieve complete leaching of detergent residues from the fabric fibers. This option is especially relevant when washing children’s clothes and things of people suffering from skin irritation and allergies to powder.
