Delicate wash in LG washing machine

delicate washBefore starting the washing machine, a program must be selected. The machine’s dashboard already has several “ready-made” modes - the user just has to scroll the selector and select the appropriate options. But if some positions, for example, “Cotton” or “Fast 30” are known and understood by everyone, then the parameters and purpose of delicate washing are sometimes often unfamiliar. Let's figure out what's hidden behind the delicate wash program of the LG washing machine. Let's clarify the nature of the drum rotation, temperature and spin intensity.

Characteristics of the “Delicate Wash” mode

The “Delicate Wash” program is designed to care for “capricious” fabrics that may suffer from conventional algorithms. However, key features are not properly described even in the instructions for a specific LG washing machine. Let's look at the settings specified in the program using the LG F1056MD model as an example.

By default, when you turn on the “Delicate Wash” program, the spin is set to “400 revolutions” and the water heating temperature is 30 degrees. The total duration of the program is 48 minutes, but on the condition that the user does not adjust the specified parameters. If you change the settings, the cycle time will decrease or increase.

The standard settings for the delicate program on an LG washing machine are 400 rpm, 30 degrees and 48 minutes.

  1. We set the temperature to “Cold water”, and the spin mode to “No spin” - the program execution time will be set to 27 minutes.
  2. The temperature is “Cold water” and the spin mode is “400 rpm” - the program will extend to 45 minutes.
  3. We set “Cold water”, and spin at the maximum possible speed for this program – 800, while the program time is 48 minutes.
  4. Turn off the spin (“No spin”) and set the water temperature to 30 degrees. The program will last 30 minutes.

Note! I immediately remember the comments of people who complain about very long delicate programs in LG washing machines. It seems that these comments were written by those who saw LG washing machines only on stands in household appliance stores.

  1. Turn off the spin again and set the temperature to 40 degrees (this program is no longer possible). In this case, the machine will wash for 36 minutes.choose delicate wash
  2. By turning on the spin cycle at 400 rpm and setting the heating to 30 degrees, the program execution time increases to 48 minutes.
  3. Leaving the spin speed at 400 and increasing the temperature to 40 degrees, we note that the machine has been running on this program for 54 minutes.
  4. Settings of 30 degrees and 800 spin speeds do not increase the program execution time, but reduce it by 3 minutes, as a result we get 51 minutes.
  5. If we want to wash on the “Delicate Wash” program at 40 degrees and set the spin speed to 800 rpm, we will get a total time of 57 minutes.

The main disappointment of LGF1056MD users was that the additional “Super Rinse” option cannot be enabled on the delicate program. Although this is illogical: the machine washes “delicate” fabrics in a large amount of water and additional rinsing would not hurt. Housewives have to wait until the end of the cycle, and then refill the drum with a new mode.

What items can be washed on this program?

The delicate mode is designed for cleansing thin and delicate fabrics.These include all materials with a loose, elastic and bielastic structure. We are talking about silk, organza, knitting, chiffon, cambric, guipure, satin, acrylic, viscose and lace. The “delicacy” will not harm new generation fabrics: polyester, cashmere, elastane, knitwear, nylon and microfiber.

There is no difference in the origin of the fabric: both synthetic and natural fabrics are washed on a delicate program. It is also recommended to clean “difficult” products to clean:

  • light curtains made of voile and organza;
  • clothing of a complex cut with relief elements and structure;
  • items with ruffles, braid, faux fur and lace inserts;
  • clothes with decor (sequins, rhinestones, embroidery, rivets);Washing a dress with sequins
  • sports items made from breathable materials;
  • thermal underwear;
  • clothes prone to shrinkage and shedding;
  • woolen products, sweaters, toys, hats;
  • lace underwear;
  • items made from materials in contrasting shades;
  • expensive clothes.

The delicate cycle is used to wash items made from thin fabrics, as well as items with decorations, complex cuts and a tendency to shrink.

Experts recommend turning on a delicate wash on a washing machine if there is any doubt about the appropriate program for the item. Smooth rotation of the drum, low temperature and minimal spin will ensure gentle cleaning of clothes without harming their shape and color.

Let's choose a detergent

For delicate cleaning you need special detergents. Ordinary dry powders will not work in this case - the granules take too long to dissolve in cold water, “scratch” the fabric fibers and get stuck in the structure of the material. It is better to give preference to liquid concentrates.

There are two options:

  • pre-dissolve the powder in warm water and pour it into the drum during washing;
  • purchase a special gel for delicate washing.

It is recommended to use a special gel. Due to its liquid form, it penetrates faster and deeper into the fabric structure, gently pushes dirt out of the fibers and is washed out without a trace. The concentrate works great at low temperatures and manages to remove stains in a short time. Such products are labeled “for gentle washing” and are sold at any hardware store.

For washing in cold water, it is recommended to use liquid detergents!

Ideally, the gel should be:the gel is easily dispensed with a cap

  • without enzymes, phosphates, chlorine;
  • without bleaching components and stain removers;
  • without dyes and preservatives;
  • with lanolin or other softener;
  • with additives to preserve shape and color;
  • hypoallergenic;
  • biodegradable.

There are many safe and effective products on the market. Brands include “Nordland”, “Sion”, “Laska” and “Cashmere”.
