Diagnostics of Zanussi washing machine

If the Zanussi washing machine stopped for no reason during the operating cycle, and the autodiagnostic system did not start, you need to help the unit. It is necessary to activate a special test mode and clarify the reason for the stoppage. You can turn on the diagnostics of your Zanussi washing machine yourself, without calling a specialist: the main thing is to follow the correct algorithm of actions.

Making it easier to find the problem

Typically, the washer itself activates the module check program, after which a fault code appears on the display. However, there are situations when the system freezes and does not start diagnostics of key components of the machine. Fortunately, this can be done manually.

How to understand that the machine did not cope with the diagnostics itself? It's simple: the equipment stops during washing, spinning or rinsing and does not react in any way to input commands. The display does not show an error code. To find out the cause of the malfunction, you should turn to the “Service Test” function and force the test to run.

Let's run the test

This procedure will not harm the machine. First: the function is configured at the factory using special technologies. Second: such an examination is much more informative and safer than a complete disassembly of the SMA with a thorough examination. In addition, testing allows you to reduce the range of potential breakdowns. It’s quite easy to enable the program yourself:

• set the gear selector to the 1st position and quickly, almost simultaneously, press “Start”;
• switch the machine to the second position;
• turn off the equipment;
• put the selector back to the first position;
• turn on the washing machine;
• set the programmer to the third mode and turn off the power again;
• turn the knob to position “1” and press “Start”;
• select the “Drain” mode and start testing.

Now you need to wait: the machine will check the main modules of the unit for a short time, and then display a failure code on the display. You can view the meaning of the code in technical documentation or on the Internet. After clarifying the location of the failure, you can decide whether to call a technician to your home or try to deal with the problem yourself.

Important! Before diagnostics, be sure to remove laundry from the tank.

If there is no display, the technician will inform you of the problem by flashing LED lights. In Zanussi machines with EWM 1000, the error code is determined by the blinking of two indicators: the start indicator and the end of the cycle indicator. The number of flashes of the first and second lights will indicate the first and second digits of the code, respectively. Place the letter “E” in front of the resulting number and get a fault code. How does equipment look for faults? After starting the test mode, the unit turns on the quick wash mode with an empty drum. During the cycle, the diagnostic system examines each component of the equipment and its performance. The inlet valve, the integrity of the tank, and the pressure switch are checked one by one.

Then the performance of the heater and the rotation speed of the motor are assessed. At maximum speed, the machine tests draining and spinning. When a breakdown is detected, the control module records the error and informs the consumer about it.
