Error E01 on a Vestel washing machine

Error E01 on a Vestel washing machineDuring the washing process, the Vestel machine may suddenly stop working and issue error code E01. On models equipped with a display, the user will immediately see the error symbol. Equipment that does not have a screen will indicate a malfunction by flashing two indicators - “Start/Pause” and “Rinse Delay”. Let's figure out what error E01 on a Vestel washing machine indicates, and whether you can deal with the breakdown yourself.

The meaning of the cipher and initial actions

What should I do to get the machine back into operation? First you need to understand what kind of malfunction you will have to deal with. Error code E01 informs that the washing machine drum door is not tightly closed Vestel. Reasons that can lead to system leakage:

  • breakdown of the hatch locking device;
  • skewed door hinges;The door hinges may be damaged
  • damage to the locking device;
  • malfunction of the triac on the control board responsible for blocking the hatch.

If the washer gives an error, proceed as follows. When starting the washing mode (even before the fault code appears), press down the drum door with your knee.

If the hatch is blocked, then everything is in order with the UBL, and the reason should be sought in the door mechanics.

Often the error code occurs precisely because the door hinges are misaligned. If no defects were identified during the visual inspection, you need to take an open-end wrench of a suitable size and tighten the screws securing the hinges. If the screws are tight and not loose, try unscrewing them and removing the door from the cabinet. Afterwards, install it back as smoothly as possible. Usually, after dismantling and subsequent installation of the hatch, it is possible to correct the situation.

Inspect and repair the door latch

If you couldn’t fix the washing machine, you need to look for another reason. The door latch often becomes inoperative. The lever that fits into the hole develops nicks. Fixing the defect is easy. If the latch is removable, you need to remove it. When removing the element is impossible, you have to work with the door as a whole.door lock damaged

The notches on the lever are sharpened with a file. Afterwards the surface is treated with graphite lubricant. Excess composition should be removed from the lever to prevent damage to the laundry during the washing process. After manipulation, the latch (or the entire door) is placed in its original place. In some cases, the springs or the lock hook are damaged. To fix the damage, parts will need to be replaced.

Checking UBL

If the machine gives an error, but everything is in order with the mechanics of the locking device, it is better to check the UBL. For this you will need a multimeter. The tester switches to resistance measurement mode. It’s easy to access UBL on Vestel machines:

  • open the hatch;
  • unscrew the two fixing bolts;
  • bend the edge of the drum cuff;
  • put your hand behind the body;
  • remove the UBL;
  • disconnect the power supply from the device.UBL failed

Place one multimeter probe against the neutral contact, the second against the phase. If a three-digit number is displayed on the screen, then everything is fine. Afterwards, attach the first probe of the tester to the neutral contact, the second to the common one. The device is faulty if the multimeter shows 1 or 0.

It happens that the tester did not detect a breakdown, but blocking does not occur. It is necessary to inspect the lock directly; the reason probably lies in a worn-out bimetallic element. The part cannot be repaired; you must purchase a new UBL to replace it.
