Monitoring the foam level in the washing machine

Foam in the washing machineModern washing machines contain so many functions and programs that sometimes it is simply impossible to master them all, and especially since some of them are actually not very useful, but only serve to attract the attention of the population and contribute to sales growth. But the foam control function in the washing machine is quite useful, and below you will find out why.

What effect is achieved?

When the active phase of the detergent begins, a large amount of foam is formed. It is this that interacts with the fibers of the fabric and removes stains. However, if you overdo it with powder or add hand washing detergent, foam will begin to form in gigantic quantities, and the machine, without controlling the level of foam, will not be able to wash and rinse the remaining detergent from the fabric properly. With the function of controlling the formation of foam, you can be calm: no matter how much product is added, it will be completely eliminated without excess, since the machine will independently pump out the excess from the tank using a special pump.

If so much foam has formed that it begins to climb outside the drum, threatening to get on the hatch locking device or other elements, the machine urgently stops washing. The foam level sensor is located at the top of the drum and it is this that signals that the amount of foam has crossed the critical point.

Why is this system very useful?

There are several reasons that contribute to excessive foam formation in the washing machine drum.

  1. Excessive amount of detergent.Intuitively, many users think that the more powder they add, the higher the quality of the wash. In fact, this is not true. Modern washing machines do an excellent job of washing things using a small amount of product, but its excess can then remain on the fibers of the fabric or even settle on some elements of the washing machine, which will not benefit the unit.if you sprinkle powder anywhere
  2. Using hand wash detergent. When washing by hand, control of the foam level is not important, so hand detergents do not contain defoamers, and their use is harmful to washing machines.
  3. Use of bleaches, such as "Whiteness". And although bleaches are not contraindicated for SM, you must carefully follow the instructions and observe the dosages.
  4. Washing porous and fluffy items with the usual amount of powder. The porous structure of sweaters, curtains, and down jackets promotes increased foam formation, so the usual amount of product should be halved. Many people ignore this instruction due to ignorance.
  5. Some types of breakdowns in the SM. For example, if the drain hose fails, the drain or filter becomes clogged, more foam will form.

Important! Excess foam in the drum is not just an annoying misunderstanding, as it might seem at first glance. In fact, this can lead to a short circuit or even complete failure of the entire washing machine.

To prevent this from happening, there is a function to control the amount of foam. Even if you added too much detergent, made a mistake with the type of detergent, or wash porous items with a large amount of powder, nothing bad will happen, the machine will either pump out the foam or stop working altogether.
