Error E3 in Gorenje washing machine

Error E3 in Gorenje washing machineModern Gorenje models are capable of self-diagnosis of the system and, in the event of a problem, alerting the owner. The warning is displayed on a digital display in the form of a cipher - a code that makes it easy to identify the cause of the malfunction. Often, users of Gorenje vending machines encounter error E3, indicating problems with water intake. The reason could be either a simple water shutdown or a serious malfunction of the module. What exactly is broken and how to fix the E3 error will be discussed in detail below.

Reasons for this code

When error E3 comes on, it indicates that there is not enough water in the washing machine to complete the selected program. First, the machine tries for a long time to fill the shortage, and then stops the system. A number of malfunctions of the Gorenje washing machine lead to this situation.

  1. Problems with water intake. Low pressure in the water supply, a closed tap, a clogged inlet hose, filter grid or water inlet pipe. This also includes other obstacles to the flow of liquid into the drum - bending, squeezing of hoses or their disconnection from the supply pipe.
  2. Problems with the drainage system. If you connect to the drain incorrectly, then all the water entering the machine will immediately drain into the sewer, and the level required to start washing will never be reached. In this case, the set takes a long time and with the characteristic sound of liquid draining. The amount of water lost can exceed several hundred liters, and if the apartment does not have a water meter installed, it will not be easy to notice the problem.
  3. Leak.Everything is clear here - as soon as the system detects a leak in the seal, the cycle ends. The easiest way to determine it is if you pay attention to the floor near the washing machine.
  4. Failed pressure switch. This is a water level sensor, and if it does not work correctly, data on the amount of water does not flow to the control module. The machine does not know how much liquid is in the tank and whether it is enough to start the cycle, so it does not give a signal to start washing.
  5. Control board failure. The situation is the opposite of the previous one. The module cannot receive information about the amount of water, so it blocks the set to avoid leaks and short circuits.

Most of the listed breakdowns can manifest themselves at any stage of washing, but more often error E3 appears at the very beginning. There is also a characteristic sign of approaching trouble - a long period of water filling, which is why the machine washes longer than usual. To accurately diagnose the source of the problem, you will need to check each possible cause one by one.

There is no water or it does not pass

Despite the impressive list of possible malfunctions, do not panic and call a specialist. Almost everything can be fixed with your own hands within a few minutes. First, we check the presence of water in the water supply - often shutdowns occur without warning the residents. The second step is to inspect the tee tap or water socket to make sure that the water supply to the machine is not obstructed.

Next, we pay attention to the mesh filter, which is located on the inlet valve and often becomes clogged. Blockages are removed as follows:

  • turn off the machine from the power supply and turn off the water;
  • unscrew the inlet hose and disconnect it from the body by loosening the clamps;

Important! Have a cloth ready as residual water may spill onto the floor.

  • We clamp the filter with pliers or pliers and pull it towards ourselves;
  • We clean the mesh with tweezers, and finally rinse it under strong water pressure. If there is heavy scale, it is better to carry out intensive cleaning: soak the product in a solution of warm water and citric acid for 30-60 minutes;
  • the mesh needs to be removed and cleanedreturn the filter and hose to their place.

All that remains is to check whether the situation has been corrected - run an express wash on the washing machine. To prevent new blockages, it is necessary to regularly clean the mesh and install an intermediate filter.. Remember that even clean tap water contains various impurities that settle on the machine parts. If cleaning does not help, we continue the repair and deal with other possible faults.

Intake valve broken

The next step is to check the intake valve, which is also easy to do yourself. We find it under the top panel of the machine at the back wall. You can't make a mistake - it can be easily determined by the connected inlet hose and pipes connected to the powder receiver. Next we proceed like this:

  1. set the multimeter to measure Ohms;
  2. apply probes to each winding;
  3. We evaluate the result; if the displayed value is not close to 3 kOhm, the part is faulty.

What to do with a faulty valve? Just change it to a new one. We photograph the location of the wires and cords, disconnect them, then unscrew the holding bolt and remove the part.

you need to check the intake valve

We purchase a similar copy and connect it to the machine: screw it to the wall with the main screw and, based on the photograph taken earlier, connect all the wiring and suitable pipes. We securely fix it with clamps and return the removed mesh with the existing hose to its place.

Don’t forget to check the quality of the water supply by running a quick wash or rinse cycle.

Electronics problems

If the E3 error problem was not detected before, then the problem is in the electronics. Most likely, the pressure switch is to blame because it incorrectly determines the water level in the tank. Let's check its functionality.

  1. Remove the top panel.
  2. We find a small disk to which is attached a long tube that goes deep into the tank. Thanks to this element, the water level in the machine is monitored - when filling, the air pressure changes, and the signal is transmitted to the control board.
  3. Disconnect the part.
    The pressure switch could have failed
  4. We blow out the tube. We find a tube with a diameter equal to the fitting and insert it into the connector. Blow lightly and listen. Triggered contacts will make themselves known with a few clicks. Their absence indicates a breakdown.
  5. We call all contacts. Turn on the resistance mode and connect the probes to the contacts. Ideally, the values on the multimeter display should fluctuate.

A negative result forces you to replace the faulty element with a new one. It is not expensive and is very easy to install. It is enough to unscrew the holding screws and install the working device in the same way.

maybe the control board is broken

When all the previous elements and sensors have been tested, then we can say with 100% certainty that the problem is in the control board. It is likely that a failure occurred on a separate triac, which is why the module cannot receive information about the water level and start the washing program. Trying to fix the “electronic brain” of the washing machine on your own is strictly prohibited - even the slightest mistake will aggravate the situation and cost many times more.

The best option is to immediately contact customer service.Specialists will conduct a comprehensive study, starting with a visual inspection, calling all contacts and ending with reprogramming the board.

    Good afternoon, thank you, everything was very well explained and clearly explained.

    Gorenje is the crappiest washing machine. As soon as we bought it, we removed the bolts and set them level in all planes. They began to wash and then wring out at a gallop across Europe. Jumps all over the bathroom

    Rakhmet. Everything is very intelligible and understandable. The clarity is complete.

    We also regretted taking Burning. The floor of the machine was rebuilt to make it work :C

  5. Gravatar Sergey Sergey:

    I lubricated the lower dampers of the tank and the jumping stopped.

  6. Gravatar Serge Serge:

    Thank you, it worked, I lifted the drain hose and water started to fill up!

    Our first Burning machine worked for almost 11 years. For the first 4 and a half years it worked without breakdowns. Then the bearing fell off. The remaining 6 years also worked well, but the bearings were changed approximately every year and a half. We bought another one, also Burning, and the old one would still work, but the body rusted and began to crumble. Let's see how long the new one will last.

  8. Gravatar Alya Alya:

    It doesn’t take water for rinsing, but takes it for washing. Brain problem?

    Ours worked for 8 years and it started. I changed the heating element and pump. And today E3 was released. The article is good, but definitely not for blondes :)
