Error E33 in an Electrolux washing machine

Error E33 in an Electrolux washing machineError E33 can appear on an Electrolux machine at any stage of washing. The equipment will stop working, moreover, it will not respond to external commands at all. To save the situation, you will first have to solve the code that appears and fix the problem in the machine. Detailed instructions and useful tips will be discussed below.

Why did the code appear?

Codes don't just appear. If Electrolux displays error E33, it means that the machine has problems with the pressure switch. More precisely, the information supplied from the water level sensor does not correspond to the norm set by the system. There can be quite a few reasons for such a deviation.

  1. No signal about the level of collected water. The sensor is unable to calibrate and the system stops the cycle for safety reasons and to avoid leaks.
  2. The water level has exceeded the maximum limit. It happens rarely, but can have serious consequences. But more often it turns out to be a “false call”, since the machine reacts with a similar error to a clogged tube or pressure switch chamber.
  3. The network voltage is unstable.
  4. A technical glitch has occurred. No repairs are required, just turn the machine on and off a few times.

Error E33 often indicates problems with the pressure switch or water level sensor.

It is extremely rare, but it happens that error E33 indicates a current leak from the heating element to the washing machine body. But, as a rule, this nuisance after a system reboot produces other encrypted combinations. Therefore, it is better not to think about the worst, and first make sure that the pressure switch is working properly.

We check and test the pressure switch

Solving the problem begins with finding a pressure switch.To do this, remove the top cover of the machine and look for a small round plastic part with connected wiring and a tube going to the drum. In Electrolux machines, the level sensor is attached to the body on top of the right side of the unit.

The pressure switch is a very sensitive sensor to external influences, so it is necessary to act extremely carefully.

Checking and repairing the level sensor is easy if you follow the following instructions:

  • disconnect the machine from the power supply and water supply;
  • unscrew the bolts holding the water meter and release the wiring;
  • we take out the pressure switch from the housing;
  • we clean the screws used to tighten or loosen the sensor contacts from traces of old sealant;
  • we clean the tube and the pressure switch chamber.there were problems with the pressure switch

You can try to adjust the device at home, but without a special device it will not be easy. The difficulty is that you will have to make a perfect closure of the contacts “at random”.

  • Turn the first bolt half a turn, return the pressure switch to its place in the washing machine and, turning on the machine, start the wash.
  • We evaluate the result. If previously the unit refused to draw a sufficient amount of water, but now the process is going better, then the tactics are correct. We stop the operation of the device, tighten the screw stronger and fix the result with a layer of sealant.
  • If the opposite effect occurs, the tactics should be changed: turn the bolt in the other direction and immediately 1-2 turns.
  • We treat the fasteners with sealant.

By independently adjusting the water meter, correcting the situation with water intake is quite difficult, but it is possible. The main thing is to select the optimal operating parameters of the pressure switch, ensuring a full “reading” of the level and volume of water entering the tank. But remember the risk of subsequent leakage, and if you lack experience and self-confidence, turn to professionals. But it is better not to experiment with the sensor, but to immediately replace the faulty level with a new one. Replacement will be inexpensive and will save you from wasting time and nerves.
