Indesit washing machine displays error F10

Indesit washing machine displays error F10Error F10 appears on the display of washing equipment from Indesit if the pressure switch is not operating correctly. More precisely, the control board stops recording information from the level sensor and, for safety reasons, “cuts down” the entire system. If the model does not have a screen, then the problem will be indicated by the corresponding indication: flashing of the “Additional rinse”, “Spin” and “Lock” lights, sometimes “Wash delay” and “Fast”. In any case, the procedure will be the same - diagnose the pressure switch and repair it if necessary. We will consider in detail what exactly to do and in what sequence.

What are the functions of a pressure switch?

If the control board of the Indesit washing machine loses connection with the pressure switch, then washing becomes impossible. In this situation, the electronic unit stops receiving information about the fullness of the tank, there is a risk of leakage, and water pumping is disrupted. For safety reasons, the running program is stopped and the self-diagnosis system is activated.

Error F10 on Indesit washing machines appears when the pressure switch or control board breaks down!

So, the main task of the pressure switch is to control the water intake, informing the board about the degree of fullness of the tank, the need to fill and drain. The fact is that with each program the drum is filled to a certain level, depending on the specified settings. This information is transmitted to the sensor, which, thanks to its special design, fulfills the required norm. The pressure switch on the Indesit washing machine looks like a plastic “washer”. Inside there is a switch and a membrane, and outside there is a hose and wiring connected to the sensor. The operating principle is simple:what is a pressure switch for?

  • air passes through the hose under high pressure;
  • under pressure the membrane “bends”;
  • the switch closes;
  • The board understands that there is enough water in the tank.

If Indesit issues code F10, it means that the circuit has been broken - the pressure switch has stopped sending signals to the board. There are only two possible problems: failure of the sensor or failure of the module itself. To determine the “culprit”, it is necessary to carry out a comprehensive diagnosis of the machine, starting with the level relay.

Let's find and check the element

More often, the reason F10 appears on the display lies in the pressure switch. To check your guess, you need to diagnose the sensor. It's easy to do:

  • disconnect Indesit from communications;
  • unscrew the top cover;
  • at the side wall of the housing we find a “washer” - a level switch;
  • unhook the tube lowered into the tank from the sensor;we find the pressure switch under the housing cover
  • We place a tube comparable to the hose to the fitting;
  • blow out the hose.

If the pressure switch clicks several times in response to the air flow, then the mechanism is working. "Silence" means the device is broken. In the second case, the diagnosis can be completed and repairs can begin. The second stage of verification is visual. It is necessary to inspect the tube for blockages and damage. Dust and cracks interfere with the functioning of the sensor and lead to an error F10. The third step is to test the relay with a multimeter: the tester is turned on to the ohmmeter and connected with probes to the contacts of the pressure switch. Normally, the resistance value should change. If the number remains the same, then there is only one conclusion - the sensor does not work, replacement or adjustment is necessary.

Can the sensor be adjusted?

There are two ways to fix error F10 on Indesit: adjustment or replacement. The first option is cheaper - you don’t need to buy a new relay, you just need to configure the old one.The main thing is to know how much water the machine needs to carry out each washing program. In accordance with the norm, 1 to 3 bolts are tightened on the sensor.

The Indesit pressure switch can be repaired by adjusting the relay by tightening 1 to 3 screws.

It is difficult to correct the error by adjusting it yourself. Firstly, there is not always information about the required volumes, so you have to contact the service. Secondly, this procedure is very time-consuming. It's easier and cheaper to replace the relay.purpose of adjusting screws

How to replace a part?

Typically, do-it-yourself repairs involve replacing the pressure switch. Dismantling the old sensor and installing a new one is not difficult - you can do it without the help of specialists. The main thing is to follow the instructions and remember the safety rules.

The new pressure switch is selected in accordance with the serial number of the Indesit washing machine.

The first step is to select a replacement analogue. It is enough to tell the seller the serial number of your existing Indesit washing machine or bring an old relay to the store. The cost of a new pressure switch is low - within 1-2 thousand rubles. Having purchased a new sensor, we proceed to replacement. The instructions on what to do are as follows:change the pressure switch yourself

  • take a photo of the old “wiring”;
  • disconnect the hoses and wires from the old relay;
  • loosen the retaining screw;
  • remove the relay;
  • install a new sensor in the grooves;
  • secure with a bolt, connect the wiring and hose.

Then we return Indesit to its original state: screw on the lid and connect it to communications. Next, run a test wash and look at the display. If error F10 repeats, it means the problem is more serious and you need to contact service.
