Resetting the Zanussi washing machine

Resetting the Zanussi washing machineIn some cases, users need to restart their Zanussi washing machine. For example, if the machine freezes during program execution. Let's figure out whether Zanussi washing machines have a special reset button, or what combination of buttons can be used to reset the cycle settings.

Is it possible to reboot Zanussi equipment?

According to the equipment instructions, it is not possible to reboot the Zanussi washing machine. If the machine freezes during operation, you must turn off its power using the button, and then unplug the power cord from the outlet. Next, the device should be left for 15-20 minutes in this position, and then try to turn it on again.

If the machine does not respond to pressing the power button, you can immediately unplug the power cord from the outlet.

These actions reset all settings of the Zanussi washing machine. If the freeze continues after such manipulations, it means there is a malfunction. Machines equipped with a display will display the corresponding error code in this situation. Is there any way to reboot a Zanussi car?

If there is no display, look to see what lights are blinking on the control panel. This will help you understand what kind of problem the washing machine is indicating. You can decipher the error by looking at the instructions for the equipment. If you do not fix the machine, it will freeze constantly, and rebooting will not help.

Examples of fault codes

To “reanimate” the washing machine, you need to figure out what exactly is broken. Look at the display or dashboard, so you can understand what kind of malfunction the machine is reporting. There are quite a lot of codes; their decoding can be found in the instructions. Let's describe the most common mistakes.

  • E11.The code informs that water flows into the tank of the machine very slowly or does not fill at all. The reasons for such a malfunction can be different: a broken inlet valve, a blockage, insufficient pressure in the water supply system, etc.
  • E13. The error indicates a leak, namely that water is collecting in the washer tray.
  • E21. The code indicates that the machine cannot drain water from the tank. The reasons for this problem can be various: clogged drain system, pump failure, failure of the control module, etc.
  • E24. The error indicates a burnout of the triac track that controls the operation of the drain pump.
  • EC1. Notifies that the washer's fill valve is blocked.
  • EF Indicates a blockage in the drain system. You will have to clean the garbage filter, drain hose or pump volute.
  • E53. The error notifies that the circuit controlling the engine triac has broken.
  • E54. The code informs that the contacts on the relay that controls the motor reverse are stuck together.
  • E55. The electrical circuit of the electric motor has broken.
  • E56. Informs that the signal from the tachometer has not been received for a long time.
  • E57. Notifies you of system current greater than 15 Amps. This could be due to a damaged motor or a broken control module.Zanussi error code
  • E58. Indicates that the phase current of the electric motor is more than 4.5 Amperes. The issue may be a breakdown of the engine or control board.
  • E62. Displayed when the water in the tank heats up too quickly, reaching 90 degrees within 5 minutes. In this case, you will have to check the heating element for breakdown. During the diagnosis, you will need a multimeter. Normal element resistance is between 5.7 and 6.3 ohms.
  • E66, E3A. The code notifies that the heating element relay has failed.
  • E68. Grounding has occurred in the tubular heater circuit.
  • E69.Indicates that the heating element is not functioning.
  • E35. Informs about a large amount of water in the tank. In this situation, you should check the pressure switch.
  • E36. The code is displayed when the ABS heating element protective sensor does not work.
  • E37. Notifies about non-working L1S sensor.
  • E38. Indicates that the pipe connecting the tank and the pressure switch is clogged.
  • E39. Indicates a breakdown of the sensor that detects water overflow.

In Zanussi cars that do not have a display, you will have to recognize the error code by the blinking indicators. To understand which LEDs indicate what, you need to look at the instructions for the equipment.

The explanation of the fault codes is given in the user manual.

If you have a model in which the EWM 1000 module is installed, then the fault code is read by the flickering of two lamps: the “Start/Pause” button indicator and the program end LED. They flash quite quickly, with an interval of 0.4 seconds. The pause between a series of signals is approximately 2.5 seconds. Therefore, identifying the error can be difficult. The number of blinks of the program completion LED will indicate the first digit of the code, and the start/pause indicator will indicate the second.
