Connecting the washing machine to the pumping station

If there is no running water in the house, starting household appliances can become a real problem. Fortunately, this problem can be solved by connecting the washing machine to a pumping station. This equipment will help provide water to both a private home and a “home assistant”, without which it is absolutely impossible in our time. How to configure the device correctly and what nuances need to be taken into account?

We connect the machine with our own hands

An automatic washing machine has been purchased, delivered to a private home or country house, all that remains is to figure out the connection. When the water supply in your house comes from a well from a pumping station, for a simple but high-quality connection of equipment to the communications you will need:

• plastic pipe;
• two fittings;
• tee;
• tap;
• filter with high quality filter element.

The pipe that will go to the washing machine must be installed in your filter and securely secured with fasteners. The pipe can go simultaneously to the flow faucet and to the washing machine, thus providing the entire house with clean water. After completing work with the filter, you must cut the pipe at any convenient place to install your tee into it.

Don’t forget to go under the fitting in the pipe, which is convenient to do with an ordinary stationery knife - just remove the chamfer from the edge of the hose so that the cuff does not wrap during installation in the hose.

After completing the preparatory work with the hose, put a nut on it, a tee, pre-lubricated with sealant for greater reliability, and then screw the structure tightly.Do not tighten all three nuts on the hose too much in order to firmly fix the tee, but not damage the hoses.

Then install a tap on the other end of the liquid supply pipe to the washing machine. If the diameter of the water drain on the “home assistant” is larger than the diameter of the tube, then use electrical tape to level out this difference. Due to the fact that there is no pressure, this design will hold perfectly with a clamp, so we put the drain hose on the tube and carefully tighten it with a small clamp.

Do not forget to immediately unscrew the 4 shipping bolts, which are not needed for normal operation of the device, after delivery of the household appliances, and install plastic plugs in their place.

Now all that remains is to connect the water supply and test the device in practice. As you can see, the connection is easy to do with your own hands, even without special education or extensive experience in plumbing procedures. The main thing is to strictly follow our instructions, and you will forget about dirty clothes at the dacha or in a private house.

Is it possible to do without a pump?

Despite the incredible simplicity of the method described in the previous paragraph, there is another method for connecting the washing machine to the water supply. It is not only simpler, but also cheaper, because you don’t need a well for it, and you don’t even have to buy a pumping station.

In this case, the water supply connection is carried out using a tank, which should be located at a height of 2-3 meters. Due to the location, the fluid will move by gravity under low pressure.

Most often, users purchase large tanks and reservoirs of 200 liters or more so that they do not need to be filled too often. The container is installed at a height of at least 2 meters from the floor level or more. Ideally, the tank should be installed in the attic directly above the room where the washing machine is located.

As for the situation when the tank is needed not for a dacha, but for a private house where people live all year round, you will have to take additional care of insulating the container with liquid for the washing machine. The fact is that in the cold season the container may simply freeze, making washing impossible, so it is advisable that the water tank is always placed near the heating radiator or near the chimney. In this case, the heat from the radiators or chimney is just enough to prevent the water tank from freezing in winter.

After installing the container, you need to drill a hole in it at a height of approximately 5-7 centimeters from the bottom level, and then insert a water pipe there. This indentation, which is a kind of sump, is very important, because it is what allows you to keep household appliances from getting harmful impurities into them.

Then you should connect the washer inlet hose to the pipe. Finally, it's time to start filling the liquid container, which can be done either using buckets of water or using a small pump. If you choose the option with a pump, you will need to additionally prepare a float switch so that it operates immediately after filling the tank and prevents water from overflowing.

After connecting the washing machine to the water supply, you should also consider draining the waste water. In a private house, you can use a large container dug directly into the ground, or another analogue of a local sewer system, which will be created in accordance with all laws so as not to harm the environment. Thus, even at the dacha or in a private house, you should not deny yourself the purchase of a convenient “home assistant”, because it is easy to connect it with your own hands, even in the absence of running water.
