How to use the Gorenje washing machine

The instructions that come with the equipment will always tell the new owner how to use the Gorenje washing machine correctly. If you don’t understand something, contact it, read it carefully and apply the rules, in this case the equipment will serve for a long time, without breakdowns.

Preparing the machine for connection

Without the necessary work experience, the best solution would be to entrust the connection procedure to professionals by contacting the service department. However, if you have the necessary skills, making the connection will not be difficult; all the necessary steps are clearly stated in the instructions.

Before you start connecting, it is necessary for the equipment to stand in the room for at least 2 hours, during which time it will warm up to ambient temperature. If you bring the equipment in from the cold and immediately start connecting, there is a risk of damaging the components due to the condensation that has formed, watch this carefully.

Afterwards, you must carefully remove the shipping packaging; be careful, the edges of the machine body may be very sharp.

Remove the transit screws; if this is not done, the washing machine may be damaged. Move the hoses to the sides and unscrew the screws on the back wall of the machine. Then you need to remove two mounting brackets, they are hooked onto the body, you need to pull them towards you. After this, the staples must be inserted into the transport screws and removed by turning them 90 degrees. After the screws are removed, cavities form, they should be closed using special plugs, which come with the machine.

It is important to choose the right surface for installing the washing machine. It should be level and not bend under the weight of the machine; in addition, it should not be slippery. Make sure the machine is level, otherwise it will make a lot of noise and vibrate during operation. The legs can be adjusted manually or using keys 17 and 32.

If you intend to install the dryer on top of the washing machine, you need to replace the standard legs with suction cup legs, and also secure the two devices together using a special bracket.

The gap between the side surfaces, top cover and interior items must be at least 2.5 cm. The back wall must be at a distance of less than 5 cm. This is necessary so that the machine does not touch walls or furniture during active operation.

The washing machine door should open 180 degrees freely; if you cannot provide enough space, you can leave it 90 degrees, but no less.

We connect the machine to communications

Before connecting, you need to make sure that the pressure in your system is sufficient to supply the required amount of water (0.05-0.8 MPa). Most washing machines are equipped with one hose for connecting to cold water; if your washing machine has an outlet for both cold and hot water, screw each hose to the desired outlet.

The hot water pipe is marked in red, the cold pipe is marked in blue. The mating parts on the body of the washing machine can be marked with a color or letter designation: C (cold - cold) and H (hot).

The inlet hose has a special shape for twisting by hand; you should not use a tool, as there is a risk of damaging the nut and breaking the seal.After completing the work, it is necessary to check the hoses for leaks; use only the original tubes that come with the machine.

Some models of washing machines are equipped with special systems that warn of leakage. If problems arise, the “computer” of the washing machine will immediately stop the washing process; protective systems help avoid water spills.

After work on connecting the water, you need to take care of draining it; for this there are three options:

• place the end of the drain hose in the bathtub or sink;
• connect it to the siphon;
• install directly into the sewer system.

It is important to ensure that the hose itself is connected to the washing machine and tightly secured using a special nut or metal clamp to avoid disconnection.

After all the work done, you should check the tightness by running a test wash mode or simply selecting any program.

Also, special attention should be paid to sockets; they must be grounded. If the outlet is installed in the bathroom, its design must be designed to protect it from moisture. The outlet itself should be located away from water sources and not lower than 1 meter from the floor. This will avoid short circuits due to leakage. The socket should be connected to a separate machine, this is necessary so that the electrical wiring can withstand the load created by the washing machine.

Everyday use of the machine

Before the first wash, you need to thoroughly wipe the inside of the drum and the door. Do not use abrasive elements.

When washing, be sure to sort your laundry by color and use the appropriate temperature. Before washing, you need to fasten all pockets, zippers, rivets, buttons, etc.Remove all decorative elements that are possible.

Pay attention to the maximum permissible load of laundry in kg. Don't exceed it. Load the laundry, add or pour powder or washing gel into the designated area in the tray.

Important! Do not use hand washing powder, this will create a lot of foam, which may cause the machine to malfunction.

Make sure the machine door is completely closed and press the START button. After washing, take out all the items, remove the tray and drain the excess water; the machine door should be left open for a while to dry the internal elements.

Selecting a washing mode

For high-quality washing, you must select the appropriate modes. The program will depend on the type of laundry. The selection can be made using the controls or touch buttons. Main types of programs:

• cotton (maximum load, washing temperature - from 20 to 90 degrees);
• mixed laundry (no more than 3.5 kg of laundry, temperature - 30-40 degrees);
• rinsing (with or without conditioner);
• spinning and draining is the final stage;
• heavy down items (1 hour, no more than 40 degrees);
• hand wash/wool (no more than 30 degrees);
• very dirty laundry (long wash cycle, about 2 hours, at 70 degrees)
• automatic (at 30 degrees, the machine itself determines the number of cycles).

In addition to the main programs designed for washing clothes, Gorenje washing machines have additional ones that allow you to clean the machine from scale and dirt accumulated behind the drum. For better cleaning, you can add a packet of citric acid to the washing machine drum and turn on the “Self-cleaning” program. This procedure should be carried out at least once every six months.
