How to replace the drain hose in a Bosch washing machine?

How to replace the drain hose in a Bosch washing machineWithout a full drain, the Bosch washing machine will not be able to work. Thanks to the pipes, pump and drain hose, waste water from the drum is pumped into the sewer system, which allows you to repeat the set and clean the laundry loaded into the machine. If one element of the drainage system fails, then the tank remains full and the likelihood of the drainage pipe breaking off with subsequent flooding of the room increases.

To avoid a flood, you need to change the drain hose in your washing machine as soon as possible. Let's figure out which instructions are best to follow.

Repair progress

Replacing the drain hose on a Bosch machine at home is not difficult: the connection diagram for the hose is quite simple and understandable. One end of the corrugation clings to the sewer pipe through a special tee or by connecting to a siphon under the sink. The other goes into the washer, or more precisely, to the pump, where it connects to the volute pipe.

Simply removing a damaged hose and installing another in its place will not work. As a rule, if there are problems with draining, the machine is full, and a sudden intrusion into the system will lead to unpleasant consequences. It is better to act strictly according to the instructions:

  • disconnect the machine from the power supply and water supply;
  • pry up the technical hatch with a flat screwdriver and unclip the latches holding it (the hatch is located in the lower right side of the body);remove water through a filter
  • find a black round lid - a garbage filter;
  • tilt the Bosch body back, raising the front legs by 5-10 cm;
  • place a container under the filter to collect water;
  • lay rags and oilcloth around the washing machine;
  • Unscrew the garbage filter and drain the water.

It is prohibited to drain the water immediately after the end of the high-temperature cycle - you can get burned by boiling water!

Having emptied the machine, you can proceed to further actions. First you need to unhook the hose from the sewer. There shouldn’t be any difficulties: access to the siphon or tee is free, and to disconnect it, just loosen the clamp on the sleeve.

The drain corrugation is removed from the snail through the bottom. We proceed like this:

  • lay Bosch on its side;
  • if there is a bottom, then you need to unscrew the bolts holding it and set the panel aside;
  • if you have the Aquastop system, unhook the float;
  • we find the drain pump;
  • loosen the clamp securing the rubber;
  • remove the drainage sleeve.

As soon as the old hose leaves its place, we proceed to replacement. First of all, we check the volute and the pump itself for blockages and dirt. If there are any, the device is cleaned. Next, we take a new sleeve, hook one end to the siphon or sewer, and the other to the pump.dismantle the drain hose

Be sure to control the bending of the corrugation to avoid squeezing and creases. Then we plug in the Bosch machine, run the “Rinse” program and evaluate the result of the work.

Or maybe leave the hose as is?

We repeat that the washing machine will not work without a full drain. Firstly, an error code will appear on the display, indicating problems with the drainage of waste fluid. Secondly, the washing machine will not start drawing water for washing and rinsing while the drum is full. In any case, the tank will have to be emptied and the drainage sleeve replaced.

When a hose needs replacing is not difficult to figure out. In general, you should act in the following situations.

  • Damage to the hose. If upon inspection it turns out that the surface of the corrugation is damaged or crushed, then it cannot be used further.Trying to seal cracks with tape or tape yourself is strongly not recommended - all this is temporary and unreliable.
  • Blockage. A clogged hose needs to be changed, since foreign deposits on its walls prevent drainage, spread an unpleasant odor and provoke the spread of fungus. For light contamination, the sleeve can be washed and cleaned.
  • Inappropriate length. If the factory drain hose that came with your Bosch is too short, a replacement will be necessary. You should not lengthen the hose yourself, as many joints increase the risk of tube rupture.

It is strongly not recommended to seal a cracked or crushed drain hose with your own hands - you must immediately replace the hose with a new one.

The new hose must be selected carefully, based on the Bosch serial number. It's even better to remove the old sleeve and bring it to the store as a sample. Particular attention is paid to the length of the corrugation and its diameter. The type of tube also matters: the coiled one consists of several modules, and the telescopic one looks like a standard corrugation.
