Gorenje washing machine does not drain water

Gorenje washing machine does not drain waterIf the washing machine does not drain the water, you will not be able to continue the wash. In the best case, the machine will not start the program, in the worst case, Burning will stop in the middle of the cycle with a full tank. In the latter option, the situation will be clouded by things stuck in the drum. You will still have to carry out a comprehensive diagnosis of the drainage system, checking key components and elements. We will analyze in detail what exactly to do and in what sequence.

We find out why there is no sewage drainage

Drainage diagnostics begins with a search for the possible cause of the failure. Several problems can lead to problems with drainage, such as a clogged garbage filter or failure of the electronic unit. What complicates the situation is that almost all “dirty” breakdowns have similar symptoms and manifestations. There is only one way out - sequentially check all nodes and elements.

Modern Gorenje can help you find the problem thanks to its self-diagnosis system. The washing machine automatically checks the functionality of the mechanisms, and if a malfunction occurs, it notifies the user about it. More precisely, it displays an error code or “lights up” the corresponding indication. It is enough to decipher the “message” according to the factory instructions.

The self-diagnosis system of the Gorenje washing machine can automatically determine the nature of the breakdown and display the corresponding error code on the display!

There is no drainage of sewage from the Gorenje washing machine due to several breakdowns. These include external and internal blockages, problems with drainage hoses, as well as failure of the pump and control board. We will describe each problem separately.

  1. Clogged external sewer.It is possible that the problem is external: the central sewer pipe or siphon is clogged. Check to see if water is draining from the bathtub or sink.
  2. Internal drain blockage. During the washing process, a lot of debris gets into the machine, both from clothes and from too hard water. All these impurities accumulate inside and over time clog the filter, pipes and drain hose.
  3. Faulty pump. A broken pump makes a loud noise, trying to work, but does not drain. The fault will be both a blockage with a short circuit and natural wear and tear. Sometimes the cause lies in the impeller being blocked by debris wrapped around the blades.
  4. Problems with the electronic unit. Due to a manufacturing defect, voltage problems, technical glitch or short circuit, the control board may fail. It is logical that then the pump does not receive a command to drain, and the machine sits with a full tank.
  5. Incorrectly selected hose. Gorenje machines, like many other washing machines, pump out water using a pump of a certain power. If, instead of a standard 1.5 m drainage hose, you connect a 2-meter or more hose to the equipment, then the machine will not cope and will return the sewage back to the drum.remove clogged drain hose

Sometimes the machine does not drain due to the user’s simple carelessness. It is possible that the program without draining was initially selected or this option was disabled accidentally. Before deciding what to do, you should check the dashboard and try to empty the drum again. If the washer does not respond to the command, we proceed to diagnose the drainage.

Water removal technique

The first stage of Gorenje diagnostics involves emptying the drum. It will not be possible to check the drainage of a washing machine with a full tank - otherwise the matter will be complicated by a flood. If you cannot drain the water automatically using a special mode, you will have to do it manually. There are two options for forced draining:

  • through the drain hose;
  • through the drain filter.

It's easier to work through a hose. Many Gorenje washing machines do not have a non-return valve in the drainage, and therefore do not have a “siphon effect”. In the case of problematic drainage, this is a “plus” - you can lower the hose below the level of the tank, thereby releasing water through the pipes. The drum will empty quickly and without unnecessary manipulation.

If your Gorenje washing machine has an emergency drain hose, you need to use it to empty the drum!

If it is impossible to establish drainage through a hose, then there is another option - unscrew the garbage filter with your own hands. We proceed like this:

  • disconnect the machine from the power and water supply;
  • prepare a container, basin or container;check the fluff filter for blockages
  • we pry up the false panel of the technical hatch and move it to the side;
  • we find a garbage filter - a black plug;
  • place a container under the filter;
  • slowly unscrew the “trash can” clockwise;
  • collecting water.

If the filter is unscrewed and the water does not drain, then it is worth checking the pipe coming from the tank. It is probably clogged with debris and is preventing liquid from “passing” into the drain. No result? Then unhook the hose and rinse it under the tap.

We are looking for a breakdown

A machine that is empty and disconnected from communications can be repaired. If the garbage filter has not been unscrewed before, then it’s time to do it. Then we check the elements of the drainage system in the following sequence: “trash can”, pipe, impeller and pump.

  1. Garbage filter. First of all, we inspect the filter nozzle. Perhaps too much debris has accumulated on it, which does not allow water to pass through.You need to thoroughly clean the “spiral”.
  2. Filter seat. The second step is to clean the hole freed from the “trash bin”.After cleaning the filter leaked
  3. Drain pipe. Be sure to probe the hose coming from the washing tank. If seals are noticeable, disconnect and wash.
  4. Impeller. It is located on the pump and helps the water go down the drain. But hair causes the blades to become blocked and the pump stops working. Fixing the problem is simple: shine a flashlight on the filter seat, find the screw and clean it of debris.
  5. Water pump. First, the condition of the part is assessed visually: whether there is a thick layer of dirt and a blocked impeller. Then the spin program starts. A working pump will hum and rotate its blades, while a broken one will be silent or remain motionless.

It is extremely rare that a spin test is not indicative: the pump runs idle and does not drain the water. Especially on older Gorenje models. The fact is that the magnet in the pump design weakens over time and cannot cope with the required load. Repair will not help here - only replacing the part.

We suspect the pump is broken

You can guess that the pump is broken even at the start of the diagnosis - the machine will hum, but not drain. If no problems with clogged drainage are found, then you need to change the pump. The device cannot be repaired. You can cope with replacing the pump yourself:

  • put the machine gun on its left side;
  • disconnect the bottom;
  • find the pump;
  • loosen the fasteners;Removing and checking the pump
  • disconnect the connected wiring;
  • remove the pump;
  • fix the new pump and return the wiring and hose to its place.

After eliminating the problem, run a test wash. Is there a drain? Then everything is done correctly. If the error repeats, contact the service - it is possible problem with the board.
