Bosch washing machine - error E00

Error E00 for BoschThe Bosch washing machine does not issue error E00 very often. In any case, if you believe the Runet forums, only a few encounter it. Users who encounter a similar code immediately begin to scroll through the error table of the self-diagnosis system of Bosch washing machines in the hope of finding the treasured E00 there, but they find nothing. Why? But because E00 is not an error, but a code that means something else. Let's figure it out together.

Let's decipher the code

As already mentioned, the E00 code does not indicate an error, but a positive result that the washing machine gives as a result of service testing. In other words, the washing machine Bosch tells us that the service test has passed and there are no errors.

When faced with code E00, do not rush to call a specialist. Everything may turn out to be simpler than it seems at first glance.

error e00 on a Bosch washing machine

This seems to be good news for the user. If there are no errors, it means the washing machine is working properly, but a person cannot use it for its intended purpose. E00 is still lit on the display, and the machine refuses to wash even after several reboots (de-energizing and turning on again). It turns out to be an absurd situation. On the one hand, the washing machine reports no faults, on the other hand, it still refuses to work - a logical dead end? Not really. You can try to reset the error.

Is it possible to reset the error?

In a normal situation, code E00 on a Bosch washing machine may appear only after certain manipulations by the user. Namely: putting the Bosch machine into service testing mode and starting this mode.If the washing machine has no faults, code E00 will appear. But it happens that you did nothing, and suddenly, after the next turn on, the machine issues this code. There are several reasons:

  • after a short circuit, a short-term failure occurred in the control module, which accidentally activated the service test mode;
  • after the same short circuit, some semiconductor elements were damaged, as a result of which the machine entered the service testing mode and is not brought out of there in the standard way;
  • A small child did the work, turned the knob on the control panel, pressed buttons and put the washing machine into service mode.

Almost all modern washing machines have a child lock - a special combination of keys, by pressing which you can completely block the control panel. Don't forget to use this function if there is a baby in the house.

The first and last options from the above list are the most common, so we’ll try to get the washing machine out of service mode with our own hands, and if that doesn’t help, we’ll think about it. Let's perform the following manipulations.

test mode on Bosch washing machines

  1. Disconnect the washing machine from the power supply.
  2. We turn on the machine and wait for error E00 to appear.
  3. We set the wash program selection knob to rinse (it is located at the very bottom).
  4. We turn the knob to the spin position (at 7 o’clock, as experts say), at the same time with the other hand we press the button, which is indicated by a spiral pattern - “spin revolutions”.
  5. We wait until the image of three eights appears on the display.
  6. Again, turn the knob two sections to the right (jeans program) so that the pointer is at the “5 o’clock” position.
  7. Next, wait a few seconds and turn the knob clockwise to the “off” position.

If you did everything correctly, then turning on the Bosch washing machine again will make you happy, since the annoying code E00 will disappear and the “home assistant” will work as if nothing had happened. If you are sure that you did everything right, and E00 still hangs, most likely this is a serious malfunction, and it arose in the electronic module of the washing machine Bosch.

Electronic module repair

So, it was not possible to clear the E00 code on the Bosch washing machine using the standard method, which means that the control module is 99.9% damaged. Moreover, it is impossible to find out in advance what has broken in the electronic module, which semiconductor elements have burned out, without removing the board and diagnosing it in detail. Is it worth it to repair electronic modules yourself?? The question is rhetorical, unless, of course, you are an experienced electronics engineer and you have to deal with printed circuit boards every day.

If, for example, we are talking about repairing a UBL or a pump yourself, then we are both in favor, because even if you break one of these, it is not difficult to buy a replacement, because these are common and cheap parts. As for electronic modules, you can really go broke.

new control module for Bosch

In particular, the original electronic module for a Bosch Maxx 4 washing machine costs about $460. With this money you can easily buy a new washing machine. Ask yourself a question: would you, being an amateur, pick at a part, risking “getting caught” for such an amount, and if you are a reasonable person, the answer is obvious to you. Better direct your energy in a more constructive direction. Find a good technician who will inspect and repair the broken electronic module.

By the way, electronic modules “on Bosch” are quite durable and can be repaired well.

To summarize, we note that code E00, it turns out, does not inform the user of any error, but on the contrary, it says that the machine is fully operational. Another question is why the car itself entered service testing mode and decided to check the system for malfunctions? This question can only be answered by studying the situation on the spot. Perhaps this will not be done by you, but by a professional master. Good luck!

    Thank you, Sergey! I read a dozen pages on resetting this error, everything is almost like the author’s, turn, click, turn, etc. If it doesn't help, pick your brain. I came across your advice by accident and now I enjoy listening to how the washing machine works.
