Error H20 in the Indesit washing machine usually makes itself felt at the moment when the program just begins to draw water into the tank. The water gurgles for quite a long time, and the drum spins for about 5-7 minutes, then the washing machine freezes tightly, and the code H20 appears on the display. Our task is to decipher this error, determine the causes of its occurrence and indicate the most appropriate ways to eliminate these causes.
What could have happened?
In 90% of cases, the reasons why error H20 occurred are more than trivial and are not at all related to any malfunction. Even if we ignore completely clinical cases when a user calls the service center, complaining about error H20, and does not even think to check whether there is water in the water supply, the reasons are quite ordinary.

Before we move on to discussing them, let's decipher the H20 error code. The decoding looks something like this: “the washing machine cannot draw water within a certain time.” Why do problems arise with water collection?
- They forgot to open the tap located at the junction of the inlet hose and the water pipe.
- The filter mesh installed in front of the valve of the Indesit washing machine is clogged.
- The mechanical part of the filling valve of the washing machine is damaged or clogged.
- The electrical part of the filling valve burned out.
- The wires feeding the filling valve are burnt, oxidized or broken.
- Communication between the control module and the filling valve is broken due to problems with the electronic control board.
Problems with water supply
Error H20 completely paralyzes your Indesit washing machine, preventing you from washing, rinsing and spinning things. All this can happen due to problems with water supply from the water supply. Let's imagine that the taps are all open, there is water in the water supply, but for some reason it does not get into the washing machine. Before thinking about malfunctions of certain components of the washing machine, let’s see if there is a blockage on the way from the water supply to the tank of the machine. Let's do the following:
- turn off the water;
- unscrew the water supply hose to the washing machine;
- clean and rinse it properly;
- At the base of the machine, in the place where the inlet hose is screwed, there is a mesh; it needs to be removed and washed.
If the problem has not been resolved, you must also clean the inside of the filling valve. To do this, first disconnect the washing machine from the power supply, then remove the top cover of our machine. After this, unscrew the filling valve, pull out all the pipes that fit it and put it aside. Next, we disassemble the valve body and wash it thoroughly.
Filling valve failure
If you disassemble the filling valve, you see that the problem is not a blockage at all, but in the opening and closing mechanism, and it does not work well. So it is necessary to find out the reason why this happens. Inspect and feel the fill valve mechanism carefully and try to understand why it is not working. Take a multimeter and measure the contact resistance.
The resistance of the working intake valve is about 3 kOhm.
The filling valves of Indesit washing machines do not break very often.The main reason why the valve burns out is voltage drops. That is why our technicians strongly recommend connecting the washing machine through a voltage stabilizer, especially in cases where the power grid is unstable. The control module is moping
Error H20 may appear due to the control module, but to be sure of this, you will first have to exclude all of the above reasons, and only then can you most likely blame the electronic “brain” of the washing machine. Checking and repairing an electronic module is not an easy task, even for those who have experience working with various types of microcircuits.
After removing the electronic module, carefully inspect the control board; some damage can be determined visually. Burnt tracks, triacs, thyristors and other elements can be noticeable if the module has been subjected to a voltage drop. In all other cases, the defect can be determined only through a scrupulous ringing of the circuit.

I don’t understand why you need to clean the valve mesh if it is still new and not used?
There is another reason not indicated that you can easily eliminate yourself. Before getting to this “fault,” I rummaged through the entire car. I washed the filters and valves, the electronic unit rang, replaced the heating element (it was leaking to the ground). And still, in the rinse mode, the water valve turned on twice for 5 seconds and after a while the H2O error appeared. At the top of the machine, under the cover, there is a water level sensor (pressostat). A tube goes to it from the tank. It was clogged with undissolved powder. We remove the tube from the sensor and blow into it a couple of times. We put it in place and... voila! The machine works - pours, rinses, drains.
