It is clear that you should not throw dark clothes together with light underwear into an automatic washing machine, as the white ones will take on a dirty “mousy” color. What colors do black things go with?
In general, it is better to wash dark clothes separately from other laundry. If you follow some recommendations, it is permissible to combine colored items with black ones. Much depends on the shade of the fabrics, so we will analyze each color combination.
It is allowed to wash red, burgundy, crimson and black items together if:
neither bright nor dark product is prone to shedding;
washing will take place in cool water (the temperature should not exceed 30°C);
the spin function will be disabled;
No soaking is planned.
If a bright or black item is new, then you should refuse mixed washing. In such a situation, it will not be clear whether the product is prone to shedding. For example, a black blouse that is washed for the first time can stain a red T-shirt, giving it an unattractive, dirty tint.
For washing, it is advisable to use gels or special capsules - the powder does not dissolve well in cold water and gets stuck in the fibers of the fabric, forming stains on the material.
How compatible are blue and black underwear? You can start a mixed wash if:
The shade of blue is closer to dark. If the color is bluish, then it is better to refuse to process such a thing together with black;
This is not the first time clothes have been washed;
The products are made from durable fabrics that are not prone to staining.
As for green things, they can also be thrown into the drum along with black ones, but only if the fabric does not fade. The darker the material, the lower the likelihood of spoiling the product. Brown pants can also be washed with charcoal pants.

the water temperature should not exceed 30°C;
avoid soaking things;
turn off the spin function so that colored items with black ones do not “spin” in the drum at maximum speed;
do not add laundry detergents containing bleaching ingredients;
use gels or capsules for washing - powder granules do not completely dissolve in cold water.
Of course, the ideal option is to sort by shade and wash items separately. If loading the drum together is unavoidable, then place as little laundry as possible in the washer. When there are 3 black items and one colored item in the machine at the same time, the likelihood of shedding becomes many times higher.
At the end of the cycle, you must immediately remove the clothes from the washing machine. If you leave wet black and bright clothes in the drum for a couple of hours, stains may form on your colored laundry. Therefore, you need to unload the washing machine without delay.
How does black “contact” gray and white?
In any case, you should refuse to wash white and black. Even when things are “rinsed” in cold water for only 10-15 minutes. The likelihood of light-colored laundry becoming stained or dirty is too high.
Dark gray items can be washed with black items. If the lighter material stains a little, it will not be so noticeable. Recommendations for the upcoming wash remain the same:
cool water;
short program (no more than 30-40 minutes);
refusal of squeezing and soaking;
special detergents for washing fabrics of certain shades.
New black items fade a lot, so it is better to wash them separately the first 2-3 times.
The more often the black fabric is “rinsed” in water, the faster the unstable dye particles will be washed out of it. If you are sure that the item will not fade, feel free to throw it into the drum with gray laundry.
How to make things fade less?
If you plan to wash blacks and colors periodically, it's wise to do a shedding test. This test will show whether darker items will stain lighter, brighter items. For this you only need white cloth. Wet a white napkin and rub it on the black item. If the fabric turns gray, it means the product is prone to shedding. It is better to abandon the idea of washing such linen together with clothes of other colors. You can also take simple steps to fix the pigment.
Add 2-3 tablespoons of salt to 1 liter of water. Soak the black item in the resulting solution for 30-50 minutes.
Dilute a spoonful of nine percent vinegar in a liter of water. Immerse the product in the solution for 30-40 minutes.
After such a procedure, you should rinse the item in clean water and perform the shedding test again. Usually the fabric stops dyeing, so it becomes possible to wash it together with other clothes.
