Washing microfiber in a washing machine

Washing microfiber in a washing machineHousewives have long appreciated microfiber. This material does not fade, does not leave marks, is also lightweight, protected from pilling, dries quickly and retains heat. But the attractive properties of the fabric can come to naught if you do not know how to properly wash microfiber in a washing machine, iron, dry and bleach. We suggest not to risk your favorite products and read in advance about possible mistakes when cleaning microfiber.

Recommendations for using the machine

Microfiber is durable and completely washable. It can be washed either manually or using a washing machine. The first option will always be safer, but automatic cleaning, if the washing machine is configured correctly, will not cause harm. The main thing is to follow a few recommendations:

  • lightweight microfiber absorbs a lot of moisture, so it is important to leave 1/3 of the drum empty;
  • do not heat the water above 50 degrees (the label indicates the maximum limit - 60 degrees, but it is better to leave a “reserve”);
  • microfiber does not fade, but it is better not to risk it and sort your laundry by color;set the temperature to 40 degrees
  • dose the detergent correctly (microfiber foams well, so exceeding the norm will aggravate the situation);
  • if there are old stains on the fabric, pre-soaking is indicated;
  • select the “Delicate” program (machine movements should be smooth, spin minimal, rinse abundantly);
  • do not run a wash cycle for more than 1.5 hours;
  • Do not use conditioners and rinse aids.

Microfiber products can be washed in washing machines.

It is not recommended to wring out and dry microfiber clothes in a machine.It is better to disable these functions and carry out the corresponding procedures manually.

We clean the dirt manually

If there is enough free time, then the fabric can be washed without the help of a washing machine. This option is much safer and more economical - you can do without unnecessary consumption of resources and minimize mechanical impact. You just need to take note of a few important nuances:

  • we heat the water to 40-50 degrees (boiling is contraindicated, since microfiber quickly deforms at high temperatures and loses its original appearance);
  • we select a suitable detergent (if you are washing colored clothes, then the composition should not contain aggressive bleaches);hand wash microfiber
  • sort clothes by color;
  • do not rub the fabric too much, as the stain quickly disappears in water (microfiber repels dirt, preventing it from penetrating deep into the material);
  • squeeze out easily without twisting.

Aggressive bleaches are destructive for microfiber.

Manufacturers of multifunctional microfiber claim that the fabric can survive about 500 washes. The main thing is not to disturb the structure of the fibers with strong friction and avoid aggressive bleaching components. Remember that artificial fabric has dirt-repellent properties, so even delicate compositions quickly clean the material without prolonged soaking.

Let's choose a remedy

Gels are most effective when cleaning microfibers. Liquid products have a gentler effect on the material, penetrate the fabric structure faster and are quickly rinsed out of it, without leaving marks or streaks. You can also wash with washing powders, but there is a high probability that the granules will not completely dissolve in water and will remain between the fibers. Use the gel or powder in the usual way:

  • when machine washing, add the mixture to the tray according to the instructions;
  • if the item is washed by hand, then first prepare a soap solution by dissolving the gel in water;
  • Afterwards, the product is thoroughly washed until the foam is completely removed from the fibers.

When choosing a product, you also need to look at its composition. It is not recommended to wash microfiber with mixtures with a strong bleaching effect, since aggressive components destroy the soft fibrous layer. Air conditioners and rinse aids are also prohibited.

Is whitening possible?

We remind you that when cleaning microfiber products, it is not recommended to use detergent compositions containing aggressive bleaching components. The use of “Whiteness” or other similar products will cause new stains to appear on the fabric, which will be impossible to remove. It is better to give preference to delicate whitening.

It is forbidden to wash microfiber with bleach and other serious bleaches.

Vanish bleach has a mild effect. But it is important to measure the portion correctly, following the instructions on the package. If the norm is not followed, the concentration will increase and damage the sensitive fibers. Also, do not forget that the water should be heated to 40 degrees, and soaking should not take more than 30 minutes. After bleaching, rinse the item thoroughly and start a full wash.white cannot be used

Removing moisture from things

Microfiber products do not require artificial drying. This is not necessary - the fibers dry quickly, so it is enough to hang things in the fresh air. Direct sunlight will not damage the material, but will accelerate the process of moisture evaporation.

It is not recommended to dry microfiber on radiators - artificial heat irreversibly deforms the fabric.

Such fabrics should not be left in the dryer or closet, as the material is guaranteed to deteriorate. Hanging things on radiators is also prohibited - excessive heat will lead to wrinkles and deformation.only natural microfiber drying

Can it be ironed?

Microfiber does not tolerate high temperatures. If the norm of 60 degrees is exceeded, the material is severely deformed without the possibility of recovery, so overheating must not be allowed. Therefore, it is highly undesirable to use an iron.

If the item becomes very wrinkled during the washing process, it is better to correct the situation by proper drying. In most cases, it is enough to lay the wrinkled linen on a soft cloth such as a terry towel and lightly smooth it with your hands.

If there are strong creases, you can try ironing the item. Iron only at minimum degrees and through a cotton cloth. We start with a small area on the wrong side, so that if it becomes deformed, we will stop and not ruin the item completely.
