What is the third compartment in the washing machine tray for?

What is the third compartment in the washing machine tray for?Everyone knows that the correct distribution of funds in the dispenser of a washing machine is the key to high quality washing. Most powder receptacles are equipped with three compartments. And if there are practically no problems with the sections for the main wash - housewives quickly remember it - then the purpose of the second and third compartments in the washing machine remains a mystery for many users for a long time. Let's settle this issue once and for all.

Purpose of the powder drawer compartments

As mentioned above, most CM models have a powder receptacle divided into 3 sections, so you will probably find the same amount if you pull out the tray.

Please note that each section has its own designation. Those on the edges are designated either by the Roman numerals I and II, or by the Latin letters A and B. And the section between them is indicated by the image of a snowflake or flower.

  • Section numbered I or letter A is for pre-washing or, more simply put, soaking. The soaking algorithm is that the laundry remains in a large amount of water for a long time. As a result, the fabric swells, making it easier for the washing machine to dislodge dirt from the fibers. If you add detergent during soaking, the effect will be even better.purpose of tray compartments
  • Section numbered II or letter B is the section for the main detergent. In most cases, housewives use this particular compartment, without adding anything to the remaining two.
  • A section with a snowflake or flower is needed for rinses, conditioners, bleaches and other additional products.

Why do you need division into compartments and why can’t you just add all the funds together at once? The thing is that it is thanks to the compartments that the machine takes the right amount of product at the right time. At the soaking stage - the product from the first compartment, at the main wash stage - the product from the main section, etc.

Important! Sometimes housewives remember that they forgot to add the product after starting the machine. During washing, you can completely freely pull out the powder tray and add forgotten detergent if the corresponding washing stage has not yet passed.

Is it possible to sprinkle the powder directly onto clothes?

Manufacturers of washing machines and laundry detergents unanimously declare that the dispenser is the only possible place to place detergents. However, for various reasons, some housewives prefer to put the product directly into the drum.

The main motive for such an act lies in “savings”. Allegedly, if you pour powder inside the drum, it will be completely used up, while the powder is never completely washed out of the tray, and some of the granules settle on the walls of the dispenser and in the nozzles. In fact, this is a misconception, since during the washing stage the water can be renewed several times, and some of the product from the drum will simply ingloriously go down the drain.

Attention! Sprinkling powder on clothes is strictly not recommended. Your task is to minimize direct contact of fibers with aggressive cleaning substances, which negatively affects the structure and worsens its appearance.

Correct procedure:Should I put powder on my clothes?

  • pour the required amount of powder into the empty drum;
  • take a glass of water and rinse the bottom of the drum, at least partially dissolving the product;
  • instead of the previous point, you can take a wet napkin, unfold it and simply cover the pile of powder;
  • Only after this is it allowed to put laundry in the tank.

You can purchase a special container for washing - a small plastic container with a sieve lid into which washing powder is poured. Then the container is placed in the drum along with the things. If it is impossible or unwilling to use a dispenser, such a thing will be an excellent way out.

The powder receptacle compartment was mixed up

If you suddenly mix up the sections of the powder receiver, this will not cause harm to the washing machine, but the quality of the wash will suffer.

It has already been said that division into sections helps the machine take the right product at the right time. For example, the detergent is removed from the pre-wash compartment only when the pre-wash starts and only during this stage. With such a system, confusion in sections can lead to the following problems:powder compartments mixed up

  • if you pour powder only into compartment A and run the normal mode, the laundry will be washed without detergent;
  • if you add detergent to compartment B and select a program with soaking, the soaking will take place without detergent;
  • If you add powder to the third compartment in the washing machine tray, you will find laundry covered in soap scum at the exit.

If suddenly after washing you find that the sections have been mixed up, it’s okay. Of course, the laundry will have to be washed, but this will not cause serious harm or loss to anyone.
