How to turn on the Ariston dishwasher and start the wash

How to turn on the Ariston dishwasher and start the washA real holiday is buying a new dishwasher, because it means that washing dishes by hand is finally a thing of the past. However, before you load a mountain of dirty dishes into your appliance and go on a well-deserved vacation, you should carefully study the rules for using a smart device so as not to spoil either the dishes or the “home assistant” itself. Therefore, immediately after purchase, do not rush to turn on the Ariston dishwasher - first carefully study all the recommendations described in this article.

General procedure for activating PMM Ariston

We will start with the most basic - by turning on household appliances, in order to briefly describe the general procedure. How to properly start a car wash on the Ariston PMM?

  1. Open the water tap.
  2. Open the dishwasher door slightly, press the power button, after which a short beep will sound, and the power button itself and the appliance control panel will light up with a soft light.
  3. Add detergent, rinse aid and salt to the machine.
  4. Place dirty dishes inside the washing chamber in special baskets for cutlery.
  5. Depending on the type of dishes and degree of soiling, select a washing mode.Hotpoint-Ariston LSTF 9M115 C
  6. If necessary, activate additional options, such as pre-soaking or the half-load function.
  7. Close the PMM door to start the wash. A long beep will indicate that the work cycle has started.
  8. When the work is completed, the machine will indicate this with two short and one long beeps. Afterwards, the number of the completed washing program will light up on the display.
  9. Open the dishwasher door, turn off the appliance using the power button, close the water tap and unplug the dishwasher.
  10. Wait about five minutes for the dishes to cool before starting to remove the cutlery.

It’s that simple, if you don’t delve into all sorts of nuances and subtleties, you can wash dishes using PMM.

Changing the mode, reloading dishes

An important question that beginners often ask: is it possible to change the washing mode while working? If you made a mistake in choosing the operating cycle, or simply forgot to change the mode after the last wash, then it can only be changed if only a couple of minutes have passed since the start. To do this you need:

  • carefully open the PMM door so as not to get burned due to hot steam;
  • hold down the power button for a few seconds until the machine turns off after a long beep;

Do not try to simply turn off the dishwasher, as smart equipment remembers the interrupted program and will start it immediately after turning it on.

  • Now you can turn on the machine, select the correct mode and activate operation by closing the washing chamber door until it clicks.

Loading an additional portion of dirty dishes, if you remembered at the last moment, can be even easier - just open the PMM door and, without turning off the machine, add the forgotten dishes, and then close the door so that the machine continues to work.

Detergents and other substances

The washing result depends not only on the correctly selected operating mode, but also on the correctly selected dosage of detergents. The rule “more is better” does not apply here, because excess household chemicals will not affect the quality of the wash, but will affect environmental pollution. Therefore, detergent, rinse aid and salt must be added in the proportion specified by the manufacturer. For example, if a working cycle requires two 3-in-1 tablets at once, then the first must be placed in the detergent compartment, and the second at the bottom of the chamber.

It is very important to use specialized chemicals designed exclusively for dishwashers, and not detergents for hand washing, which foam too much and leave marks on the dishes.

To add detergent, you need to open the wash chamber door and find the plastic dispenser located on the inside of the door. It has two compartments, one for tablets and powder, and the other for rinse aid. The first compartment contains a large compartment specifically for the main work cycle, which requires a full dose of powder, gel or a whole tablet or capsule, and the second small compartment is created for situations where pre-washing is needed. A little to the right is a place for rinse aid, a product that gives dishes a bright shine.How often should you put salt in the dishwasher?

A separate item is a special salt that restores the resin in the dishwasher’s ion exchanger. This part softens hard tap water, preventing plaque from remaining on the dishes or damaging the PMM water heating element. Only special salt should be used, and not table salt, since ordinary salt regenerates the resin in the ion exchanger much worse.

You should not add salt only if you have soft tap water in your city, which you can find out using special tests, or by going to the official website of the city water utility.

To add salt, you need to find the bin located at the bottom of the washing chamber, open the lid, add about a liter of water to the tank, and then add about a kilogram of salt. If the saline solution spills during loading, it must be completely removed with a cloth or using the quick wash mode so that the salt does not damage the bottom of the washing chamber.

How to load the dishwasher correctly?

Finally, the washing result depends on the correct arrangement of the dishes. It just seems that all you have to do is tightly fill the baskets with dishes and start the wash, and in a little over an hour you will get dishes with a crystal shine. In fact, due to improper placement, the dishes may not be washed at all, which is why it is so important to follow all the points in our instructions.

  • Be sure to remove pieces of food, napkins, seeds, tea leaves and coffee grounds from the dishes so that excess debris does not clog the PMM filters.
  • After loading dishes, make sure that nothing is blocking the free rotation of the spray arms.
  • There must be at least a minimum gap between each tableware so that the stream of water reaches the entire surface of the dish.
  • Vessel-shaped dishes should be positioned upside down to prevent water and foam from accumulating in them.
  • The largest and dirtiest items should be placed in the lower basket, such as pots, pans, baking sheets, lids, large plates, salad bowls, and so on.cast iron frying pans
  • The upper basket is designed for smaller items, say, saucers, mugs, glasses and more.
  • A special compartment, available in some Ariston PMM models, is ideal for cutlery.

If there is not enough space inside the washing chamber for all the dishes, then it is not necessary to divide the washing into two sessions - just remove the folding stands and adjust the height of the baskets.

  • The largest items should be placed along the edges of the basket, leaving the center for smaller items.
  • Do not place utensils made of wood, aluminum, copper, brass, tin or plastic in the dishwasher, which may melt under high temperatures.

Experts also do not recommend washing particularly fragile porcelain and crystal dishes, as well as antique hand-painted dinnerware sets, in dishwashers. To avoid damaging delicate cutlery items, make sure that they stand firmly in the baskets and do not come into contact with other items.

Program selection

Another point of inclusion for a brand new “home assistant”, which often raises many questions among housewives, is the choice of working cycle. Indeed, at first it is difficult to understand which mode is best suited for a given situation, especially considering the variety of programs kindly prepared by the manufacturer. To make it easier for you to decide, we list the main modes of Ariston dishwashers:

  • Intensive mode. The program is capable of washing even the dirtiest dishes, but due to the intensity of the work it is completely unsuitable for fragile items. The duration is 145 minutes, during which the machine consumes 25 grams of powder;
  • Auto mode. Designed for moderately soiled dishes. Cleans tableware in 110 minutes using 21 grams of detergent;
  • Eco-friendly mode. Essential for saving energy and water. In 155 minutes, it uses 25 grams of powder and washes moderately soiled cutlery;Hotpoint-Ariston dishwasher programs
  • Accelerated mode.Helps to wash lightly soiled dishes immediately after eating in a minimum amount of time. Spends 21 grams of powder and 25 minutes of time;
  • Crystal. Designed exclusively for fragile and delicate dishes, which are washed immediately after use in cold water. Uses 25 grams of detergent in 90 minutes;
  • Ultra intensive. This mode is for the dirtiest dishes that have dried food or congealed grease on them. Uses 25 grams of powder for 155 minutes.

In order not to struggle with the correct dosage of detergent, you can use convenient tablets or capsules.

Delayed start, half load

The last point is to look at the additional functions provided by the manufacturer. To delay the start of the wash for three, six or nine hours you need to:

  • press the “Delayed start” button as many times as necessary until the display shows the desired start delay time;
  • select the operating mode and close the PMM door. A short beep will indicate that the time has passed, as well as the start of the countdown on the display;
  • Once the countdown is complete, the machine will begin washing.

If you need to change the start time of a delayed program, then use the “Delayed Start” button to change the time, and if you need to cancel the function completely, just use the same key to remove the start time.

Finally, to activate the half load mode, when there are too few dishes for a full work cycle, you need to press the mode button several times until the triangle indicator lights up. This program helps save not only water and electricity, but also household chemicals for dishwashers. After activating the mode, washing will be carried out only in one of the two dish baskets.Do not attempt to activate the half load mode together with the reduced time and night mode options, as they are incompatible with each other.
