How to put dishes in a Bosch dishwasher?

Many new dishwasher buyers believe that, regardless of the arrangement, all the dishes will be washed perfectly, because this is what this “home assistant” was created for. However, you need to load dishes into a Bosch dishwasher correctly, otherwise the washing result will be far from ideal, but simply from a satisfactory level. Moreover, during the first operating cycles, until the user gets used to the household appliances, he can spend about half an hour of his time on correct loading. Over time, this will pass, and loading will take no more than five minutes, but first you need to learn how to distribute the dishes inside the washing chamber. This is what we will do today.

Pre-treatment of dishes

Do not rush to put dishes in the dishwasher, because first you need to prepare the utensils for washing and remove all food residues from them. The more thoroughly all the garbage remaining after breakfast, lunch or dinner is removed, the better the dishes will be washed, and the lesser the risk of clogging the PMM drain system. It is convenient to remove fruit pits, tea bags, coffee grounds and other dirt using ordinary napkins or sponges.

Additionally, before loading the dishes, you can rinse them under water, as this will help them wash better. This must be done in situations where you accumulate dishes for washing in household appliances and then once a week or more often do a major wash. In such a situation, rinsing is necessary, because food and other debris can stick to the surface of the dishes and dry out, making them difficult for even the dishwasher to handle.If you always wash dishes in a PMM immediately after eating, then you don’t have to rinse the items.

Let's start with small dishes

We begin to gradually load dirty dishes into the washing chamber. Let's start with small items such as glasses, mugs and cups. Most dishwasher models are designed so that the listed dishes are washed in the top tray. Place objects there upside down - this way the water will wash out their internal surfaces and then flow down.

Under no circumstances should you place glasses and mugs in a horizontal position, as this will prevent water from getting inside and the items will remain dirty.

For wine glasses and glasses, a special holder has been prepared in the PMM, where objects must be placed with the stem up, and also ensure that they do not touch. This is necessary to ensure that fragile glasses do not break during the working cycle. The plastic holder can also be used for small cups, if it is not needed for glasses and wine glasses in a particular sink.

Regardless of the type of cookware, securely fix items in their places so that nothing dangles during operation and powerful jets of water cannot knock over the dishes. Also make sure that when closing the top tray, nothing inside gets in the way or dangles.

Stowing saucers, bowls and similar items

Plates and other similar items can be loaded into either the top or bottom tray, depending on the size of the dishes. The top tray, if the dishwasher is spacious, can be used for:

• small braids;
• bowls;

Don't overload the dishwasher, because it won't be able to clean dirty dishes, and you'll waste time, water and electricity - it's better to separate the cutlery into two stages.

Where should I put my cutlery?

Cutlery such as spoons, forks and knives must be placed in a special basket. Spoons and forks should be placed freely in the basket, alternating with each other, so that they are better washed. Try not to fold them too tightly, maintaining at least a small gap. Knives should be laid with the blades down.

Experts do not recommend washing sharp and ceramic knives in the dishwasher, as they may become dull, as well as knives with wooden handles, because wood swells from prolonged exposure to water.

In the most modern models of Bosch dishwashers, the topmost tray is allocated for cutlery, in which spoons and forks must be placed horizontally. This way, items will not only be washed better during the working cycle, but will also take up much less space in the washing chamber.This is also important because placing cutlery horizontally is much safer.

Pots and pans

Let's move on to the largest dishes in which housewives prepare food - frying pans, pots, saucepans, baking sheets, etc. You need to place them in the lower basket, trying to wash them separately from glass, porcelain, crystal and other fragile materials that are best not cleaned in an intensive program with high water temperature.

Place frying pans with baking sheets on their sides, and pots and saucepans upside down, or at an angle. This will allow water to penetrate into the pan and then drain down. In this case, it is very important to place the pans sideways and not upside down, otherwise they will block the access of water to the upper basket.

Carefully read the user manual for frying pans and some other utensils, as Teflon-coated products cannot be washed in dishwashers.

Be sure to remove handles from frying pans and saucepans if they can be removed. Place products with handles in baskets so that they do not touch the walls of the PMM hopper. The baking sheets should be placed sideways along the edges of the lower basket - this will allow water access for washing. If there are not enough dishes for one working cycle, then you can use the half-load mode, which will help save resources - water and electricity.

What kitchen utensils can be washed and what cannot?

Not all items can be processed in the PMM washing chamber. For example, cutting boards, ladles, skimmers, spatulas and much more can be washed in the dishwasher only if they are not made of wood. Plastic items can be washed, but placed in the topmost tray, away from the heating element.

Cutting boards can be installed in the side compartments of the trays if the dimensions allow this, but it is better to wash the boards yourself. Always place ladles with spatulas horizontally, even if there is no separate place for them. If there is no special compartment for them, then they can be placed in the top tray next to the spoons and forks.

Recommendations for placing dishes in baskets

It is necessary to take into account not only the rules for loading dishes, but also the maximum permissible number of sets of dishes that can be washed at one time. You can find out this information in the instruction manual, because the equipment manufacturer always indicates this data. For example, compact dishwashers can wash 6 sets of dishes in one working cycle, narrow ones can process up to 11, and full-size ones up to 17.

But users need to take into account that the sets come in different sizes of plates, plus, the sets may not have saucers, which will also affect the load. This is why placing dishes in the dishwasher can vary from family to family. Regardless of the composition of your cookware sets, follow the recommendations from experts.
