The need to reset the program on the Indesit washing machine occurs often. Some make the wrong choice of button, others want to throw away a forgotten item at the last moment, and still others remember that they loaded a shirt with a passport in their pocket. In any case, the cycle must be stopped and the running mode reset. How does the program reset on Indesit washing machines and is it possible to turn back when the tank is full?

How to reset?

The easiest way to reset a program on any machine is to reboot the system. But this method is used if the machine does not respond to commands and freezes a lot. In other cases, an emergency reboot is not recommended, since the board and electronics as a whole are at risk. It's better not to take risks and practice safe cycle reset.

To reset the program safely, you need to follow the following instructions.

1. Press the “Start” button for 3-6 seconds.
2. Wait until all the lights on the dashboard turn green and go off.
3. Make sure the wash is paused.

To reset the mode on older models, you must additionally turn the programmer to the neutral position.

When the mode is reset successfully, the machine “goes silent” and all the lights on the panel blink and go out. If after the manipulations there is no “blinking” and silence, then the situation is bad - the machine is faulty and the system generates an error. In this case, you cannot do without a reboot.

A proper reboot is done like this.

1. Turn the programmer to the first position.
2. Press the Stop/Start key and hold for 5-6 seconds.
3. Disconnect the machine from the power supply by unplugging the power cord from the outlet.
4. Turn on the power supply and run a test wash.

If the machine does not respond to turning the selector and the start button, you will have to act radically and immediately pull the cord out of the outlet. But it is better to try to carry out preliminary manipulations several times. Do not forget that if the machine is suddenly disconnected from the network, the user risks damaging the control board and the electronics as a whole.

What if there is a lot of water in the tank?

A system reboot is needed in extreme cases. If the reason for the forced stop of the cycle is a document or valuable item that has fallen into the drum, then you should quickly stop the wash, open the hatch and drain the water. It is necessary to act as soon as possible, because the longer the lost item stays in the machine, the less chance there is of getting it unharmed.

Soapy water heated to 45-90 degrees can oxidize microchips in electronic devices and destroy microchips on cards.

To remove an item from a drum full of water, do the following.

1. Stop the cycle according to the previously described scheme (press and hold the “Start” button until all the LEDs on the panel blink).
2. Turn the programmer to neutral position.
3. Turn on the “Drain only” or “Drain without spin” mode.
4. Press the "Start" key.

If everything is done correctly, the machine will immediately stop the cycle, drain the water and unlock the hatch. When the machine refuses to drain, you will have to force it by unscrewing the garbage filter. It is located in the lower part of the body behind the technical hatch, and unscrews counterclockwise. The main thing is to place a container under it and cover the entire space with rags, since the unit will produce about 5-10 liters of water.
