Removing the Bosch dishwasher tray

Most of the key components of dishwashers are located in the tray. This is why it is usually so important to remove the Bosch dishwasher tray in order to repair or replace damaged elements. But this is not easy to do if you do not know all the nuances of dismantling, or do not have detailed instructions at hand. We will analyze in detail the process of removing the pallet with your own hands, so that you can cope with this without calling a service center technician.

Dismantling the PMM pallet

Do not rush to begin partial disassembly of your “home assistant” - first you need to disconnect it from the power supply and water supply, remove it from its niche and leave it in a spacious place in order to have free access to it and work comfortably. Be sure to cover the floors with rags or discarded towels to avoid accidentally spilling the floors. When all preparations are completed, you can begin.

• Open the door of the PMM, remove all the sprayers from the washing chamber, having first pressed their latches to remove them from their seats.
• Remove the drainage filter from the pan, which may contain waste water from previous washing cycles. Remove liquid with a sponge.
• Remove the bolts around the filter that hold the circulation unit in place.
• Remove the pump flap by gently pulling it to the sides and towards you.

After removing the impeller, examine it for food debris and other contaminants that need to be removed.

• Now the dishwasher can be turned upside down, or placed on the back panel so that the tray can be conveniently removed.
• Unfasten the pallet latches that are located along its edges.Before removing the pan, disconnect the float sensor by removing the bolt securing it, as well as the wiring. It is better to take several photographs of the correct connection of the wires so as not to make a mistake with the connection during reassembly.
• Also remove the fill valve from the pan by disconnecting its fasteners.
• Finally, disconnect the pan holders.

Now you can remove the pallet and begin repairing or replacing the element that has failed. Be very careful when partially disassembling the “home assistant” so as not to break the fragile plastic parts or break the wires.

Components of PMM

To check the functionality of the dishwasher, you need to know its structure. After removing the tray, you will have free access to key components of household appliances.

• An electric motor that starts the PMM elements into operation.
• The circulation pump is the “heart” of the machine, because it supplies water to the system so that the sprinklers can start washing dishes.
• A heating element installed in one housing together with a circulation pump so that it heats cold tap water.
• Drain pump that drains waste fluid after each operating cycle.
• Pipes and a drain hose through which used water goes into the sewer.
• Filling sleeve with a leakage protection system.
• A coarse filter installed at the inlet of the filling hose, which blocks the entry of rust and other harmful impurities contained in the water supply into the machine.
• Water level sensor that determines the current liquid level in the washing chamber.
• Water intake.
• Ion exchanger, a special compartment with resin that helps soften hard tap water.
• The control model is the PMM, the “brain” of the system, transmitting signals to all key components of the equipment.
• Noise insulation.
• Connecting hoses, clamps, and wiring.

But that's not all you can see inside the dishwasher. On the side of the tank you can still find several important components of the PMM.

• Tank made of stainless steel.
• Upper and lower sprinklers.
• Baskets for dishes, as well as a small tray for forks, spoons and knives.
• Two filters, one in the form of a glass with a fine mesh, installed in the bottom of the machine, the other in the form of a fine mesh, placed on top of the first filter.
• Hopper for special salt.
• Dispenser for household chemicals installed directly on the door.
• Rubber seal along the entire contour of the tank.
• Control Panel.

It is difficult to understand the structure of a modern dishwasher without special knowledge. That is why, most often, it is better to entrust repair work to specialists from service centers, since in all the variety of complex dishwasher components it is very difficult to understand what exactly broke and why.
