How to remove cuff clamps?
In fact, the cuff is held in place by two clamps: an outer one and an inner one. There are no problems with removing the outer clamp. It is dismantled quite easily: slightly unscrew the cuff and you will see it inside the fold, next to the edge of the front wall of the CM. To pry the clamp, you will need a flat, but not sharp, screwdriver. Hook the clamp on it and carefully move around the perimeter until you find the spring. Next, stretch the spring slightly and remove the outer clamp.
The inner clamp is not as easy to reach as the outer clamp. Some craftsmen who trade in repairing washing equipment generally prefer to completely dismantle the front wall of the washer during the process of repairing the cuff and removing the clamps, respectively. However, for owners of Samsung, Ariston, Indesit, ElG, Kandy and others models, there is an easier way.
After removing the outer clamp, use the fingers of one hand to lift the edge of the cuff, and with the fingers of the other, feel the inner clamp underneath.
Use a screwdriver to pry up the clamp.
Lift the bracket a little and pry it off with a screwdriver.
As soon as you remove the clamp from the inside, the cuff will easily come out of the grooves and can be replaced with a new one.
How to install a new cuff?
The next step - installing a new cuff - is also not easy.The fact is that the material of a product that has recently come off the assembly line is very elastic and dense (the cuff only becomes more pliable over time, so it can be easily removed), so you will either have to call someone to help you, or muster all your strength and skill to pull the cuff over the grooves. Below is a procedure that will help you install the seal and do it correctly.
First check to see if the cuff is defective.
Find the mounting mark on the seal.
Press the seal against the grooves so that the mounting mark and the mark on the machine body coincide.
Press the cuff firmly to the inner edge and secure with the inner clamp. Make sure the clamp fits securely into the groove.
Fix the cuff on the outer edge and stretch it around the perimeter of the hatch.
Secure the result with an external clamp.
Important! After this, evaluate the result of your work: feel whether the seal fits correctly everywhere, whether the mounting mark has gone astray, whether any gaps or voids have formed, whether the inner and outer clamps sit well in their places.
Why do some craftsmen still prefer to disassemble the front wall to replace the cuff? The thing is that the front panel significantly complicates the process of tightening the cuff; without the end it is much easier to do this. But for a simple user, dismantling the front wall may not seem any easier, so it’s better not to waste time on this, but simply open the hatch door and remove the cuff using the method described above.
